Fear and Dawdling

Back to the mess. What shall we fix today...

/

If you have  fear of mice, I see it as my job to ensure that the entire company knows that you have a fear of mice, and that we fix it together. If possible. It's a scary culture, and it's also probably why I don't generally retain many friends. Haha.

Fear has no place in an army. If one falls, the line falls.

/

I've been caught up in many discussions on fear, over the past few weeks. From mothers with children, to masters and slaves, to ladies and their gentlemen. Why is fear fundamental to the human experience? It is very simple.

If you analyse the human mind as an operating system, you will find that fear is the kernel. It sits at the centre, and motivates everything. It wraps itself in layers of security mechanisms, but ultimately it is the motivator of all life. The telos.

Without fear, a species would cease to evolve. Love is a derivative of fear. Curiosity is a derivative of fear. Fear is almost tautological with survival, and then if you must consider it, fitness. If you remove fear, you die - death by meditation, the body stops feeding itself and expires. You can't live, and erradicate fear, you can only control it.

And that is why dealing with fear is an operational activity.

I suppose this is asking too much:

"We are generally averse to dealing with parties that can't carry out communication using wholly electronic means, so it's a good test of competency for us to conduct all preliminary meetings electronically, and to resort to face to face meetings only for the final steps of a deal. Thank you! We're happy to meet everyone, let's get preliminaries done online. This is 2016."

8pm meeting cancelled. Time to rest, then back to accounts.

We're off track for training. But for good reasons. Next shop, I would like to see how fast we can train a 24-7 team, if we don't stop to smell the roses. This will be only be possible if we fix our corporate functions to the nines before starting the next team. Got 7.6 months to fix corp. Or we fail again.

/

Fever or no fever, time for work. Then maybe I will sleep better.

What is the language of love? It is not to express oneself, but rather to deliver pleasure to another. In doing so, one may not recognise oneself, as the language of the audience may be alien from one's own.
