0140 : Control. I speak to people often, about their motivations and risk management. Many adults remain childish in their approach to personal operations management. They regard things they enjoy as decontrolled states, and so enjoyment of life is risky, for them. I find many people to be so childish, but, it is their right to be that way. One simply manages them, as ungoverned risks.
1052 : Higher education is getting a lot of attention in this hypecycle of AI. The masses are forced to come to terms with the notion that human computations are trivial - and as AI improves, masses will have to face the fact that human conscious experience is also trivial ( the data which is operated on ).
Someone said, colleges are too focused on producing employable graduates and not enough on education. in 2003, I considered dropping out of a liberal arts college because it was too focused on producing employable class markers lol.
I stayed to get the degree because I was on scholarship so basically it was a job.
1603 : Next : buy rice, then reconsider baking ( again )
1919 : quantitative modeling jobs at bnm : Maybe you should give it a go.
My friend suggested I apply but, I said
1. I don't have the relevant paper qualifications even if I have the skill ( unproven )
2. I don't typically make an effort to win jobs, as I prefer to wait till there is a specific advantage to myself, before entering competitions
3. I do consider any jobs where I have already been shortlisted as a fit, as that is an advantage in competition
It's like, we can all help loads of people around us, but helping everyone would be an inefficient use of energy. So we would help those that asked for help first, or those from whom benefits can be derived when they are helped.
2110 : ""in english we say, i'm done and leaving, in malay we say?"" now is the winter of our green sawah
2142 : I graduated in 2005, and moved to Malaysia to study the country. However, I think I spent the most about of time interacting with locals in 2025, while I was on study break. From 2005 to 2024, I lived with locals, but did not engage in so much anthropology outside of specific commercial networks. I guess there will be many more cultures to study here, as I know very little about industrially specialised people outside of mass-market service professions.
2144 : Bought rice earlier. Time to make a pot of it.
2256 : Personally, I am ok with PAS having 67% of parliament. The reason is that my entire 42 years of life in Malaysia, I have taken it for granted that my interests will be sidelined anyway ð. I don't mind that others are more defensive about the messy law enforcement in this country. It's just not something I have taken much pride in, personally.
2258 : If you had to pick between PAS and UMNO, which would you pick? I'd go with PAS simply because Islam is more formally governed entity than Malayness. Lol
Fri 2Jan2026, Sabbatical2 @2.770years ( year3; month34; week145; day1011 )
0135 : Parti ABSURD
asalkan bukan sebarang unionised racial discrimination
ðĪŠ
1316 : ( vs. continuing to allow UMNO/etc. to run PN) Strategically, PAS can assert leadership in the present, forgo one or two cycles of strength, and then have a much stronger reputation by 2030-2034. It is up to PAS to decide on such risks/opportunities.
1622 : today's inexpectation : metallurgy ... steel microstructure
1731 : crystal geometry, low priority stuff, again bubbled to the top of the stack
1919 : Mildly dismal second-half of 2025. Productive, but not on all fronts. Physiology routines improved, but research ongoing. Housekeeping improved, but that is mainly reduction of mess, not growth. Social relations mostly in maintenance mode thus keeping costs higher than preferred, one or two new friends added, but nothing outstanding to note, so more exploration costs anticipated. New study portfolios initiated in realestate and construction. Investment portfolios eroding slowly. Some charity done, but unsustainable without more capital - huge distractions. Acquisition of more familiarity in the Malay language, probably the largest long-term pivot.
1942 : The purpose of a prestigious education, is to enable an individual meatsack to maximise their protocol leverage within the context of a broader society and its institutions of power, power being a convenient word for access to goods and services.
But at the individual level, many people remain disorganised messes, unable to be happy in isolation, and structurally reliant on broader society. These animals make me sad. However, there is never a good time to dwell on this, so one continuously pursues new studies given the dismal environment of such people.

1259 : Good afternoon. Time to feed, again. An endless circuit, upon this mortal coil. ð
1552 : Time for lunch
1553 : US bombings: I guess Venezuela was deemed ""not white enough"" today
Sun 4Jan2026, Sabbatical2 @2.775years ( year3; month34; week145; day1013 )
1316 : A voluminous day in my short life. A few things to ponder while I execute housekeeping.
- reified US foreign policy
- 50-year spin on constitutional matters in Malaysia
- realestate markets and construction technique
- nutrient optimisation at cost
- other trivial less on my desk this past half year
1357 : Ethnicity is a globally obsolete concept. While I don't expect to live to see the end of it, one day, people will stop trying. ð
1808 : Sordid day. Cheerful on various factors, but otherwise a drag. Shower and nap
2216 : Had my attention dragged back to diesel generators, and the notion that modern ones can be much quieter than before. I avoid doing open-air food businesses because I'm not myself a fan of patronising those in the tropics. Now seriously considering the stack required to run a portable air-conditioned cafe. fml
2222 : Enforced eating. Meal two

0040 : Spot of string bending for hand-ear coordination.
0200 : Structural review of lifting. I need to stabilise fingers and wrists before trying to bend the elbow, shoulds, and waist. So grip studies for now on the EZ+30kg
0304 : I made a mistake.
Around 2006 I had a single dumbbell set for up to 14kg. I had decent results between it and running. Then I stopped using it, and running probably was affected as well.
Around 2012 I got the barbell and bench set. Around 2015 I got the EZ bar, and heavier weights, but I completely underutilised these due to a deprioritisation of physical conditioning.
I should have just maintained work with the single dumbbell and added more weight.
Anyway, in 2026 I have resumed this study. Today the dumbbell is at 16+kg for starters.
What a lost opportunity. And a waste of gear.
1246 : I really need to start the biscuit project. Then order more SPI.
1358 : ""11% of 24k lawyers are non-Malay, hence Malay rights eroded"" : I may not agree with the argument, but I do enjoy that it draws attention to formal governance rather than sentiment ð
Yang penting bagi sekalian, kalau kita nak ugut kuasa antara satu sama lain pun, cara terbaiknya kelolaan rasmi, bukan berkeliaran dengan dongeng dan hasutan.
1501 : DAP has more in common with PAS, than with UMNO. This is one of the bigger threats to UMNO, so the ""ultras"" are now racing around trying to figure how to position themselves in the era of the Internet.
1618 : looks like DOSM doesn't publish religion data HaHAHA
1913 : I have been very lazy and still haven't started baking
Tue 6Jan2026, Sabbatical2 @2.781years ( year3; month34; week145; day1015 )
0141 : cracker research begins
1.
flour : water : oil => in grams
240 : 120 : 60 ... is common;
240 : 160 : 25 ... is crisper
2. generally, roll thin for crispness; avoid too much browning / AGE formation
3. need to substitute AP flour with SPI instead; nervous as fuck, too much thinking, and not enough doing; current SPI dosing is in multiples of 8g ( 90% protein, so 7.2g protein ), and APF is 10% protein; hypothethically ( pix )
0424 : Unexpectedly tired. A colourful, but unnoticed, day.
1321 : I should buy eggs. I am out.
1322 : Probably also insufficiently slept, over the year.
1351 : 2025 TOTY : has my brain slowed down after normalising Internet via laggy 5G on the 28th floor?
2159 : Harder questions I ask while shopping for relationships.
1.
Why would you want to date someone who (1.1) plans their life around minimum wage, and (1.2) intends to work until they die?
2.
""Forever"" is a lazy design. It doesn't have much contingency planning, and just sort of creates an entity for the sake of creating an entity ð. What sort of goals, and exit strategies, would you prefer in an intimate relationship?
2341 : Officially back to where Ieft off in college : having to study muscle-specific exercises for detailed development. 20-years behind, as usual, in all the normy things."
"Wed 7Jan2026, Sabbatical2 @2.784years ( year3; month34; week145; day1016 )
0038 : Oh, eye focus issues due to infrequent exercise. Recalibrated via isolated focus.
0235 : Amazing. Isolated soy protein now down to 0.022 MYR/g at 5kg volumes. Hopefully legit.
0349 : Proper strength training is always discombobulating. Sensorimotor network SNR drops as muscle response becomes less predictable. Underslept moreover. Maybe under the influence of a shot, hardly a large dose. I placed a cup without looking, too close to the edge. Off to bed.
1637 : TIL : zinc roofing isn't just GI, it's almost 100% zinc ... 0.17 to 0.40 mm. Around 15 MYR/m^2@0.18mm
1722 : TIL : danish dough whisk
1757 : Need to review cooking apparati
Umur saya 43, umur Malaya 69.
2126 : My first bread. I made a thing. It's round. Can't remember if this is my first bread or not. On to further tests.
Mainly I needed to understand the ratios for SPI, APF, water, and flour. And subsequently elasticity. Pan frying was a no brainer. But I may need an over in order to scale up to loaf.

1316 : Cramps before bed. No bloodwork. So heuristically administered Mg2+ and K+ as chlorides. Solved immediately. Weird. Will continue to observe.
1512 : Fractionalisation of the sovereign debt market, sits at the intersection of the following concepts :
(1) CBDC / central bank digital currency
(2) state-regulated backing of stablecoins with national debt
1545 : Gem stones : being poor-ish, I never had much exposure to this domain of objects. From videos I see the point now, the internal refraction is pretty, and mesmerising for a naive subject. It's amazing how much distraction results from giving dominant apes a piece of silica.
1614 : Probably underslept, but i should get back to pastry research as soon as SPI stocks-in.
1743 : TIL : galvalume is an aluminised upgrade of zinc galvanised steel. Commonly also a base, under acrylic resin, to which stone is bonded, forming flexible roofing sheets.
1816 : I'm not a fan of Critical Theory. But the masses are not analytical to a tee - they think in terms of feelings, and personalities, and mystical forces. So I have to use their ontology somewhat, in order to engage with their ethics.
1949 : daily reminder to aim lower, particularly when action is unproductive
Fri 9Jan2026, Sabbatical2 @2.789years ( year3; month34; week146; day1018 )
0240 : TIL : collagen synthesis : hydroxyproline is rare in plants, but its precursor proline, and also glycine are more common in plants; eating gelatinous tissues like skin and cartilage doesn't need to break food down to individual amino acids, as dipeptides and tripeptides are absorbable in the gut.
0351 : Sudah lah lama Malaysia berjihad, demi Malaysia yang tidak melupakan Melayu.
Sudah ke belum Malaysia berjihad, demi Malaysia yang melebihi Melayu?
Apa kerangkanya?
0409 : The end is near. Daily ration R&D should be over, soon.
1542 : Figured out why front-squat looks funny - most grips are designed for dumping the barbell instead of putting it down gently. Can't do that in my flat, so it'll have to be firmer grips.

0233 : Car detailing, dressing up to look good, being fussy about food, worrying about what family, friends, and strangers think. Aesthetic issues. Realm of plebs. I appreciate it for anthropological reasons, and I certainly step into necessary roles for work and social engagement in general, but I think folks who can't step out of initial preferences to rearrange their priorities arbitrarily, lack a sort of intelligence. Symmetrically they would think of folks who can arbitrarily rearrange their preferences as lacking moral fibre. Morality and aesthetics being more or less the same thing, under analysis.
0824 : OKM has now posted publicly, committing to campaign for KJ in the next GE. I suppose it's a matter of picking the devil you know, but what do I know about politics? ðĪ·ðŧð
Perhaps they are a natural fit for a future UMNO, MCA axis
1656 : Slowish weekend, following a bit of realestate survey to PD and Malacca. I went home and sharpened my two kitchen knives. I need to buy baking paper and figure out where to spend my helicopter money.

1557 : It's strange when you have no time to be interested in money.
It's stranger when most people around you have no time to be interested in anything else.
2305 : First loaf of bread executed. That's three days' SPI ration cut with AP flour. Hopefully diet stabilises further from here.
Back to humble pie. Total 10kg including EZ bar. Better for finer nerve and muscle activation. Tip tap this and that

0302 : the funniest thing Khairy and Kian Ming could do right now is ally with an indian politician whose name starts with K
1330 : This is just a reflective pep talk to psycho myself to hit 100% of daily sleep targets instead of settling for 60-80% for months on end. Performance is a supply network. In software we speak of scale-up and -out, orthogonally. Since I mostly work alone, fractures to vertical logistics can be crippling. Poor maintenance erodes performance not merely out of the margin of excellence, but even out of social medians.
1344 : Consumer anthropology is fascinating. I mainly do it to understand marketing. What irritates me constantly is how unmanaged people are about their feelings of joy to adulation, and from hurt to disgust. It is precisely this which gives me the view that the common citizen, and in fact the common person who engages in social relationships, should be treated as a special delicate snowflake because of such retarded development. I tend to tread carefully in society, because of such sensitivities. In rome, as rome. With fools, as a fool. tra la la
1348 : XAGUSD to 100 in 16% ...
I now bake my protein ration into bread, at a ratio of 7:9 soy_protein_isolate:all_purpose_flour, 0.8% baking powder, 0.8% oil, 0.4% salt ( first loaf used KCl ), 52.8% water, percentages being of the total mass. I hope this simplifies my daily routine - previously, SPI consumption required too much water. It will probably take a few days for me to absorb recent information from this study. Hopefully I will then be able to free up resources to think about other things.
2114 : This morning I was practicing a new hobby, pasting a single demand in CAPS on any vainglorious politician's comment thread.
This evening, I realised a new hobby : every time a commentor says, ""but the chinese are playing victim in Malaysia"", I simply spin the chat back to the underlying tension of Malaysian politics over the past 70 years ... the poor Malays are the bullied majority, and they have suffered the most on aggregate.
I expect that soon enough, the powers that be will have a standardised response to this angle. We shall see."

0001 : Observable deterioration of eyesight and hearing, of late. Not a huge amount. Suspect neuropathy, and will have to make a point to bump up vitamins, greens, and organ meat.
0029 : Anthropology of Malaysia's political landscape is much easier today than in 2015, 2005, etc. It's not perfect data, but it's generally informative. Maya but better.
0056 : Tightened the trucks. Pumped the tyres. Maintenance of toys I don't have the brainpower to utilise fully. I should refactor.
0237 : Maybe it's not neuropathy, but a lack of exercise. I should go out more.
1248 : Time to feed.
1400 : since soy bread has some flour, rice per set meal has been reduced by 20%
1539 : more feeding
1847 : Malaysian politics is a fascinating study. But maybe my DMN is overstimulated and I need to do more CEN stuff.

0105 : After taking off 60g of dry rice, now I am short of calories. FML. Need to decide what else to eat
0126 : Wondering if my personal history of referring to Malaysia as a reverse apartheid situation is - better or worse than Rex Tan's professional blunder comparing Malay-Chinese relations to Zionist-Gazan relations, where he didn't even say the word ""apartheid"" . I suspect Rex wasn't quite trained as a public speaker, so the semantics of his question veered all over
1. in-group/ out-group biology ( structural basis, he didn't mention it specifically )
2. xenophobia in the Malay-Chinese context ( he framed it as unilateral, it's probably bilateral )
3. the ACTUAL question, of how Malaysians should deal with perceptions of otherness ( on each side of the fence )
Phew
1848 : someone got Cursor to write a browser. As an experienced web developer : this is a really interesting problem.
The specifications of web protocols, are vast, and convulated.
One can hope that AI assistance will

2. write better specifications
3. save the world from that ungodly mess of committee work the W3.org

Target : mitigation, cut from 3 to 2 doses of 55g soy bread ( 14g SPI + 18g APF ) per day, and add more confectionery; upon reflection, chocolate chips ( I had some old ones lying around ) are mostly carbs, so that doesn't work too well in the long-term ... I will probably end up supplementing with a butter instead ... currently 10g is MYR 0.55

Meanwhile, ontological studies of macroeconomics, and building construction, will also drag along ...
... the outlook for the year is largely words, words, words :(
2345 : Chinese geneology in Malaysia and Singapore : As a Chinese Malaysian, I am as disinterested about this as I am about the history of Malay civilisation prior to 1957.
It remains a curiosity to me, that all of us together, remain in Malaysia, and therefore Malaysia is all of us, with our different interests and hobbies.

Masalah 2 : penggunaan kata ganti nama olehnya samar2

0.7% salt, by mass, half KCl, half NaCl ... seems invigorating, but more observations are needed.
1913 : I wonder if my current study of Malaysian language and politics will become a long-term hobby, or if it will just be something I put a lot of focus on for a couple of years, and then write-off as philanthropy / community engagement / national service. What's cute is that 20+ years after returning to study Malaysia, I am actually getting around to it, as meanwhile my studies were more structured about non-Malaysian-specific subjects.
2021 : Time to buy eggs.
2314 : It is not an offense to have an opinion. No law forbids that.
But we do have some speech laws which are written tersurat to allow the government to prosecute almost anyone. If I say ""PMX is bad"", it is disaffection against the GovOfDay and SA1948 says I can be locked up.
My view on this (separate from my view about Rex's speech) :
1. Current laws give the executive branch of government too much power
2. Everyone is asking the gov to not use that power; but by law the gov may decide to exercise that right
3. The right to exercise gross powers should be removed from the law! That is a legislative branch exercise. It can be aided by the executive branch exercising, ""test cases"" to create formal documents about how practical or judiciable a law is ... For example by charging Rex under SA1948.
To be clear I am not saying that in this specific case Rex Tan(k) should definitely be the test case lol ... but at some point, test cases do help to advance a review of legislation ...

0132 : TIL : ballpark, 10 kWh powerwall, 6000 cycles, 100kg, $2500; so it should fit nicely within a cubic metre for shipping with a quiet diesel generator; a square metre of solar yields an absolute max 1 kW, and say 0.1 kW on a cloudy day, and you should be able to modularly increase capacity. So after all, the packaging and installation of such is not too hard, even for a single person.

1442 : Let me get this straight. People are worried that Japan will now grow too fast, and have to reign in rates to fight inflation. And the anti-thesis would be,
- growth might falter
- growth with limited inflation may be achieved
- inflation may be encouraged, but gov financing will be problematic
- er, hm
1514 : Two days ago, KL had two sunny days, pivoting from the cold half of the year to the hot half. The last two days however have been smoggy AF. What happened, agricultural burning opportunity?
1826 : Hsu Chuang Khoo did a interview with Shahril Hamdan that indicated, this chap is future prime minister material. :) The key talking point was the absence of a unifying political mythology. On ""unifying values"" - it can't be (a) religion (b) race (c) economic class; so my view has been, it should be (d) legalistic ... it has to come back to a focus on civics, based on an understanding how how the law works, introduced to children from primary school, and put into practical gamification until they are 15, like running a mock country; afterwhich the education system should allow the ""trained cititzen"" to turn their focus to industrial specialisation.

1431 : Malaysia's real estate valuations are regulated by the Ministry of Finance. Broadly, professional valuations used by banks ( hence written on legal documents ) may be seen to offer figures up to 30% greater than market price ( a discounted amount actually paid by the seller ). Sellers then collect the discounted price. Banks however, finance based on the undiscounted price. I suppose it creates stability in the market, at the expense of transparency. 0115 : day 1032. Space consolidation has been amazing. But it is no longer effortless to host a tidy party, even for just one guest. Perhaps I will think about it some more. The past six months have involved a huge amount of time spent on the humanities. A lot, for a low priority - but since it factors into my understanding of language formality, I think it is good exercise in the long term. The political benefits are tertiary.

1607 : I had a simple life for a few years. One shop, one mandate to keep it running 24-hours-a-day, a fixed wage below the taxable bracket, no benefits, a room to sleep in across the street - paid from wage, an old car, transient friends, 18 business partners. It was a simpler life. I wasn't expected to be smart.
Nowadays, I have only myself, so I expect more of myself. A world to study. And a body to repair.
2253 : Malaysian political economy has been baroque, my entire life. But because it is where I find myself in the world, I afford it a bit of study. Nevertheless, most issues are so much in the Malaysian bubble, that it is nearly impossible to work on global issues, if one spends too much memory on Malaysia. That would be the main reason I have never had Malaysian languages, history, or culture, as a focus ... I do wonder at what point in the current study, I will seek pause. For the time being it continues to be both recreational, and a test of my abstract language comprehension.

0336 : @liew chin tong : Half your statements are correct; the other half are just bonkers.
The most productive people I ever worked with in Malaysia were Bangladeshi, and some of their gross pay ended up being higher than many Malaysians because the output-per-RM was incredible.
So retention does involving paying people more, but that is after they are shown to perform, not before. There must be excess operating margins, or venture capital, to pay higher performers.
Chicken and egg? So you have to find an orthogonal solution.
The key problem in Malaysia is poor [ strategic planning and ruthless execution ]. You don't need Malaysians to understand what those words mean, but if you use existing authoritarian mechanisms to idolise those words, then Malaysians, I believe, will figure out what those words mean in a very short time.
Leaders need to point to the correct standards, which the plebs can follow.

Particularly, my toes and soles are currently too sensitive, feel pain too easily, and lack both muscle tone and nervous control. So I am literally in a phase of training where I just abuse my socked feet by standing on a hard rectangular piece of wood, looking for weakness and soft spots. On one hand : what a waste of time. Malaysia is a filial and religious society, and I am aware that my point of view as an areligious, single, uncertified, and often unemployed person, carries few locally valued markers of class. With reverence for the facts, I have executed a life which is less reverent of the people. On we go, for a while ...

Somewhat caught up with 2005/6's capability. Currently certain foot parts are still painful under pressure, but once that resolves, maybe it is just a matter of cranking the throttle for longer distances. Noting meanwhile that 10% increase in load per 30 days is a useful heuristic for avoiding injury.

0308 : Hi. I don't have an immediate proposal. But, if you are open to random chats, I will pop by and visit.
My current interest is in construction technique and off-grid energy systems for homesteaders. This is motivated by my ongoing search for some place to colocate several elder family members - I am trying to understand the logistics of making this work, and then explaining the cheapest method to the public. I have been studying realestate prices on the peninsula for a few months now, and have some rudimentary framework for a homestead which I seek to improve.
Let me know if you'd like and I'll visit.
0447 : Malaysian studies are interesting this week. I don't study it because I like the country, or have hope for its future - I just happen to have lived here for 38 years and like being aware of my surroundings. It's a bonus when I actually find it amusing.
Mon 2Feb2026, Sabbatical2 @2.855years ( year3; month35; week149; day1042 )
0013 : Napped, after a day of casual walking with friends. Four-day weekend for the KL folks. On a lighter note, now just waiting to see if XBTUSD bottoms around 25k or 50k.
0220 : So kimchi adventures.
1. With the current batch, i didn't throw any brine away. It's a bit watery ... so in the next batch, i can further reduce added water to zero, and also add more starch or chilli powder to thicken it.
2. On day 4 the acidity seems about right, forming the base sensory note, under lesser notes like grittiness, crunch, and umami.
3. The other weird thing i am testing is calcium. This is in the current batch as about 1% chalk by weight. The expected effects are
- increased CO2 and pH as chalk will neutralise some of the vinegar
- neural effect of higher dietary calcium, which is usually evident quickly after such a meal
- ""kokumi"" or mouthfeel as a gustatory change
I have confirmed the first two. I am not sure about the third yet, so I will continue to observe it.
4. Maybe there is too much umami, as the recipe has both fish sauce and MSG, so I should remove MSG in the next batch.
0407 : Carb guzzlers ( rich and poor ) often don't understand how OTT their habits are. For bread eaters, a foot-long sub is like 90g carbs. For rice eaters, taking my current twice daily set meal as an example : white rice, 120g dry, 240g cooked, 2 cups cooked volume, is >90g carbs ... and then I'm chasing it with SPI bread which takes it to >110g in a sitting. So, I do want to revise my set meal recipe.
0552 : 0548 minor surgery. If it can be called that at all - I've definitely done more complicated debridements. Somewhat embarrassed about how quick and unnoticeable it was to lance a contusion under a toenail that's been a non-trivial hyperalgesic issue for running. I didn't even realise I had specialised tools until I remembered a zitkit in storage. Utter bollocks.
0613 : curing salt, class 1 carcinogen : I first heard about this around 2003, from a college professor. The discovery was 1970, and it took until 2015 for the WHO to lock it down.
0652 : Today's great discovery : over medium eggs with soy sauce and italian herbs. It's just like the soy sauce and pepper thing, but with one substitution. I make my eggs in the microwave, so it is super fast.
1752 : So I wondered, if this is evidence that I am not useful among ordinary professionals. I am aware that this is not how people do professional work, however in the absence of more professional experience, I thought it was a reasonable doubt for my own risk management.
1831 : It is time to go for a run. I will begin before the sun sets, and end after. Perhaps not enough sleep, but it is better to execute chores first, before further reflection.

0422 : I feel this is a difficult time. Objectively it is far from the most difficult campaign I have executed. In terms of trenching, 2018 was much harder to execute, but it was much simpler - I was running a business crippled by partnership disagreements, and we had just enough staff to operate at 70% capacity, until they upskilled to restore 24-7 operations .
My present campaign is hermitic, and the main challenge is multiplexing. Physiology pushes down costs; financial markets create volatile VaR, and limited social circles encourage an exhausting effort to venture capital for networking. Some progress has been made on software, a tiny bit on hardware, and some more on cultural anthropology.
As is often the case, I can rely only on myself for counsel, comfort, and command. So, it is a bit thin. On we go ...
0502 : My home energy bill is running 8-10 $/mo. I think for 2026, I can afford to let it run up to 12-14 $/mo. That's going to load the ACs a bit more ... all within acceptable limits.
0641 : At this point : if everyone's talking about a short, maybe it's already passed us by.

0201 : I once spent five years studying a foreign language ( Chinese ). It did a number on me. I've been studying another ( Malay ) for about six months now. I am truly afraid that it will take up another five years - it's a lower priority, but I don't know if it's worth five years of immersion. Haha
0424 : Taking 10 years off to study stuff you know a lot about, is a lot less scary than studying what you don't know at all. In my case, the latter would be Malay language and culture - which despite my 38 years in Malaysia, I certainly spent less time on, than global concerns such as architectures for cognitive systems, and commerce. Scary shit, haha. Humans are so unnecessarily messy in their civilisations.
0517 : TIL the phoretic mites in Cloverfield are super common on insects ð
1708 : Today's study is probably on the cholinergic system, which I don't understand well. Perhaps because research proceeds as a matter of the adrenergic. But I can't maximise total productive output without understanding how to manipulate the nuances of each one. And then there are other systems, besides.
1731 : Inboxes clear. Bills still unpaid. Reading direction calibrated. Learnt a bit about whose lawyer is whose, these days. Many things undone. Time for breakfast. I read about so many people's corporate ambitions these days, something I rarely had time for in the past. Corporate work depends on a sense of institutional legitimacy. While I do study that, it doesn't have a high priority in my life, so far. Maybe in the future I will reengage with that realm. Meanwhile I suppose I can simply read about it. I do need to reduce empathy with my friends who have anxieties about the realm, as it does nothing but distract me from my own work.

So I need to think about increasing calcium, via either egg shells, chalk, small whole fish, or dairy.

0040 : TIL : phones and tablets have TB-scale secondary memory. I'm such a pleb :D
0125 : Dietary calibration :
Ca2+ : need 1.0-1.5 g/day for bone repair. Worried about caclium deposits. Probably can do 1.5g egg shells daily, about 0.6 g/day
methyl-cobalamin : dropping 500 mcg 1-2 times per day seems to get the job done. I had a consistent practice of this over a few years, but cut back on dependency concerns. I think the current low-meat diet warrants a resumption. This has been tested for long periods on and off. The on periods are definitely better slept, and dopamine seems to be higher through the day, with serotonin more during sleep. No lab work. Just loads of semi-educated guessing.
0204 : Ca2+ in kimchi. One option is to dose about 0.3g Ca2+ i.e. 0.75g CaCO3 per 80g kimchi. That's about 50g of egg shells per 5.7kg of kimchi. And to dissolve it would take acetic or lactic acid from 90g of glucose. Interesting option.
0253 : Rolling 6-24 month window for bone density adaptation. Longer than it takes to train a staff to do most things.
0422 : Ok, so kimchi again. It turns out that more chilli is needed to balance out a more sour aging, so having previously tested 200% of base, next I will test 160%. Oil is also necessary to dissolve some flavour components, and to lengthen presence in the mouth, but oil is no fun in the fermentation vessel. So, oil is added at service.

0043 : Reminded to get to a mapping of neurotransmitters to brain networks. But no bandwidth to execute at this hour.
0054 : A brief reflection on plebeian interactions.
Most of the people I know who seek to make gross impacts on society, ply a top-down strategy of acquiring leverage via class-markers and relationship development with force-multipliers. This is ordinary.
The opportunity cost of doing so is simply that the details on the ground are distanced and declassed, as a matter of politics.
I suppose, I have spent the majority of my life studying plebs, because I enjoy the details of existence as they are, more than I have desire to change them.
Or maybe it is just a matter of ontology before ethics, and I am generally disappointed with the ontological grasp of most people I know.

0958 : Dietary calcium study continues. Also figured if I have shin splints, I can reasonably keep up daily mileage by throttling down to heart zone 2. Reviewing absorption rate of fat, so a large dose like chocolate may take 4-6 hours to hit the bloodstream as usable energy. I still wonder how many weeks it will be to recover to max operation rate. Hopefully sooner rather than later. Monitor this, monitor that, so many things to monitor. 0630 : Wee hours dealings with the taxman. What a cockup. Hopefully settled once the office opens.
Meanwhile carnitine tests have begun. Carnitine smells like mushroom powder, i.e. ass, since it's made from highly sulphurous amino acids. Interestingly, this blends well with the soapy ew vegetal profile of citrulline, making it altogether just taste like meat broth.
9km daily jog is still working. Barely getting it done, over 75-80 minutes. Eventually it will be faster. So I am planning a trajectory at this point. At some point, it takes up so little energy that I will have excess energy daily to do weights before/after the run.
So we shall try these.

1646 : It is subject to strategic attack. Madani has already demonstrated weakness on test cases such as UEC, pig farms, illegal temples, and local elections.
If you start a fight, or are baited to enter a fight, you should enter with an overwhelming strategic advantage, or avoid it if you can.
Madani has entered all the fights above, WITHOUT fully leveraging their position.Madani has full control over media, legislative branch, executive branch, and judiciary ... and the respect of the MRR. Five estates, and four branches of government.
They SHOULD leverage this to deliver irrefutable, conclusive, common sense policy, backed by law, and executive budgets.
They don't - they get into mudfights. Yelling. Humban.
So it is a strategic erosion of their advantage. One might say it is because Madani has a weak grasp of Malaysian common sense.

0549 : Maybe my timelines are too long. Work is pursued in descending order of priority.
In primary and secondary school, I was focused on fundamental science and mathematics concerns.
In college, I had to do independent study on history, because everyone kept presenting me with contextless things, which I found unacceptable.
After college, I had to train myself in software engineering and commerce.
Now I am circling back to nutrition, local politics, and neurochemistry. I still haven't made time to totally brain macroeconomics.
And I am already tired.
0907 : SN switching between CEN and DMN, and related neurotransmitters, phenomenology : Studied this while running today. Also sent it to a friend who's working on reducing stimulants.

0001 : DSM5's cluster A is like the worst lazy bucket ever. Can't wait for DSM6 to come out, as it will hew closer to ICD11.
0550 : Studying more the triple network model today. Seems like a useful toy, but not quite finessed. Drilling down to figure out what neuroanatomy corresponds with what memory operation, at the same time.
I am guessing at this point, about my own operations. REM and half waking lucid dream stages are DMN dominant. This for me, happens more in the 8th to 10th hour of sleep. This catchup is necessary when I don't spend enough waking hours in DMN-dominant mode. A shortfall of DMN exercise leads to more effort being required to suppress DMN activity, making CEN activity less efficient.
0838 : Alright, going to the condo gym pre-dawn is a good deal, after all. As long as the infrastructure is ""maintained"". Low-temperatures, low light and sound, you get a sunrise, and that tells you when to stop.

0645 : After a bit of writing analytical notes, it is time for enforced feeding.
0923 : TIL : for pretty much anyone taking 50-75 g/day protein or more, calcium dosing needs to approach the daily ceiling of 1.0-1.5 g/day. Protein ingestion increases calcium excretion, and there is some data on 20 mg-Ca2+/g-Protein/day, but once you hit 1-1.5 g Ca2+/day you're already near the Ca2+ daily RDA. The wobble here is that the Ca2+ ceiling is closer to 2.0-2.5 g/day, but I am not so sure yet about the safety of the 1.5-2.5 g/day range.
1320 : Cooking heat stability ( microwaved dough, so probably 100C ) :

- probably not ok : carnitine, HMB
I'm not sure that I'm brave enough to bake with these.
1605 : A lot of verbal work, and a tad of socialising went down since the last nap. It is time to nap again. I have learnt a little bit today, but mostly I am still subject to stress from not being strict enough about my social life, which is generally distracting me from other work.
But I note, a number of Malays were seen writing about Malay identity, and the laws of Malaysia which govern it. So I am pleased with the state of the world, in the limited ways in which it appears to me today.
1649 : Clearing some old bottles left in my home. Mixing things here and there to figure out how to maximise value. Basic conclusion is there's near zero value to something like Red Label, which basically carries a lot of woody defects. Might as well get locally produced spirits which are untainted and cost 20%, throw in dried cranberries and get something that tastes cleaner.

0243 : napped. Fairly comfortable. Observations :
- maybe calcium is helping with neuro, having gradually increased supplementation from 0.4g
- DMN is still not consolidating memories as quickly as I would like; daily operation count is still below ideal
- CEN activities take up the bulk of waking hours : studies have been mostly procedural, about software architecture, and cultural anthropology, over the past year and a bit
- I may need to model bodybuilding as a matter of spatial craft, not merely neurological modulation ... In order for it to register properly in my procedural memory on a daily basis
- time to feed, again

0439 : Novels are not for scientific explanation. Anecdotal illustration, yes.
Generally I find that discussions of 'capitalism' or 'individualism' or 'socialism' jump the gun, and presume that people already agree on objectives. No objectives, loose chats, useless definitions.

1008 : The big $ industry coming is sex bots.
( Besides nannies, teachers, friends, nurses, firefighters, security guards ... firefighters are hard though ... this one is interesting.)
1119 : Reading my own code from 2020, framework architecture, line by line, and wondering if I have the headspace to contain this rn
1137 : Fascinating how I can spend half a year away from software development, and completely forget the entire train of processes under architectural consideration. Then go back and relearn everything by revising work done and annotations.
1311 : post-meal. Drew the blinds and prepared for nap. Main memory utilisation today was on revising software studies from years past. Secondary utilisation was a number of social interactions.
1743 : Today's variety of annoyance is the unintelligent but supremely hardworking soldier that you can't fire, because they are a friend not a staff.
1800 : Napped. Reviewing limitations. Inflammation from exercise seems moderate, so I am avoiding further exercise today. DMN is not fully happy with work environment, so I am just going to enforce feeding and proceed with revision of past studies.
1910 : After all, learning how to use public clouds, and manual memory management in software, are the closest thing to cyborg existence in this age.
2050 : Fools are a timesuck. Avoid, avoid, avoid. Avoiddddd ...
2056 : Too much power is certainly a bad thing. Too many distracting decisions about who to harass, and who to ignore. Who to maim, and who to grow. Too many choices ... far too many. Civil society demands disavowment. Society remains simple enough therefore, for the average person to experience it without torment.
2112 : Sometimes I feel that life is wasted on little things. But I can't find any big things worth doing, so the little things have it.
2256 : There's a lot of euphoria, and anger against euphoria's discontents, in the media today. A fitting time to be reminded that, most people can't see beyond the trivialities of :
- their direct sensory stimuli,
- their social neural responses resulting indirectly in sensory stimuli, and
- their recalled and reimagined sensory stimuli
Roughly, food, family, and spirituality.
it is a bit lonely living among these animals, but I suppose, that is the reality of the world at this point in history.
2257 : Perhaps now to sit a bit, then to do a maintenance run.

0222 : Tired. Being surrounded by fools is normal. When the fools get angry, I get really fucking tired. Yet quite normal.
0811 : woke with the sun. Not particularly hungry : suspect the calcium loading has something to do with that. Inflammation moderate and not particularly offensive, albeit present in recently loaded muscle groups. Social memory still cluttered with the risks presented by angry plebs, not much to be done about that until the DMN moves on. Time to enforce feeding .
1031 : Learning is a logistical process, concerned with turning food into reusable information. Somewhere along the mid-point, nutrition is sufficient, but production mechanisms are not yet aligned to maximise memory throughput. That is usually when I say ""I need to take a day off just to think."" Maybe today is such a day.
I don't feel ready to dive into cgroups.
1048 : Wrist movement terms. I miss fighting. The only time I did more of it was before the age of 11. Since then I had other interests, and certainly did not develop much technical knowledge here. Currently on sabbatical, I am catching up on physiology. Today I need to know the name of a thing, for stretching.
1438 : Iya.

1429 : Diet notes :
1. Anti-pattern : 120g dry rice per meal was still resulting in elevated nutrient excretion. Chopping it down to 107g for the next phase of testing.
2. Calcium : so the 1000-1500 mg/day R-Dietary-A is based on a 30% absorption assumption. It turns out that absorption rates can vary from 10% to 60% ... mainly due to solubility of dietary inputs, and vitamin D's moderation of intestinal absorption. This means the R-Absorbed-A is actually something like 300-450 mg/day for non-athletic adults, and the upper limit is 600 mg/day. So I need to plan around this number instead. Also the 500 mg/sitting limit implies 150 mg/sitting. Hah.
1518 : Humans don't have a point. Human points are all made up in retrospect :P
1555 : I try very hard in life to avoid people who place a lot of trust in other people's reputations, without contract. But every now and then I trip across someone who needs to go to a school, or to buy a product, for not much else than the perception it pulls from other people. I may need to advertise against this more stringently. LOL - it's so bad. I'm actually not sure how to write the copy, and it's bugging me. - ""allergic to reputation inflation"" - what do you think? does it work?
1756 : Tired. Where did the day go. Need to make bread again, but will procrastinate. Clearing some junk food received as a gift. Reflection before further consideration of work.
1757 : OK - time for an enforced run.
2017 : I will probably never work on anything that needs Firecracker or Knative, but I should at least try out Knative for academic exercise
2316 : teresa kok car break in : Something is wrong with the way DAP, Parliament, KDN, are training you guys. As a person of public interest, on the noisier end of the spectrum, your opsec needs to be a lot higher than the normal citizen.

0916 : dopaminergic and serotogenic experience seems reasonably positive. I need to read up on creatine and carnosine interactions specifically. My sense is still that the indirect interaction is via increased kinesthetic activity, which further requires other neurogenic factors. I have a bunch of desk work to do, but first calcium with coffee, i suppose.
1000 : Not sure if I am just slow, or have a long attention span. Often I want to study a complicated problem, but it takes me a few days to organise my memory and suplress other interests before I get started.
Current prey : cgroups
1014 : Most desk workers are afraid to work with their hands. It is not even possible for them to imagine what life is like when desk work, is paid the same as manual labour. So they get anxious.
But people who are comfortable with their bodies are unconcerned by the movement of fingers only and the movement of the entire spinal column, in getting work done.
The upside is that if you are comfortable with your body, you do not furthermore need to concern yourself with anxieties about how to do less work with the body.
It is amusing to observe, people who are uncomfortable with their lives, and always striving for something they do not have or to protect something they are afraid of losing.
Everything in the economy is driven by fear or fancy.
1022 : ""lunar malaysians"" <-- confirmed lunati-c ch-ecking-in, k?
1359 : brief improvement of my understanding of public cloud compute costs
1539 : Going to adjust creatine dosing towards larger, less frequent doses.
1635 : After three years of underfunded research, I think this has attained functional utility : non-essential dietary inputs from meat, which can be supplemented in vegans
1733 : An empty day, surrounded by billowing follies. Soon it will be time to enforce a run.
1750 : One thing I wish for, subconsciously, most minutes of my life ... to never have to teach someone else how to manage their minds. But that is an impossibility, so I proceed with the life of teaching. It is otherwise impossible to have any interaction with society that can be deemed beneficial to myself. Because a pleb who isn't working for you, is working for someone else, more likely than not ... against you. Ho hum.
2250 : A chatty evening.
I think I am still overdosing calcium, but I need to do more tests.
On today's run, I thought about how expensive cloud compute is, still. A reasonable reaction maybe, is to just focus on understanding the minimum granularities of computation ... so really just focusing how learning to use cgroups for now."

0034 : I think I got my neural chemistry onto a good rate of accelerated productivity ... maybe now I just need to wait for actions-per-time velocity to pick up.
Hypertrophy and bioenergetics also seem to be stabilising. The constant risk is the absence of bloodwork.
Social life is a bit of a write off ... not enough interesting people who are easy to find in this city or online. Call it a me-problem. Too fussy, and this is a low priority.
1035 : Creatine and methycobalamin before bed. Back to a routine stabilised during the 24-7 standby years.
1637 : Sitting down to viddy the Krebs cycle because I skipped Form 6 and stopped taking chemistry after orgo1. Good time to get familiar with all this stuff 25 years on.

2201 : Unpopular opinion : ""punish everyone who offends a religion"" <- this is a protocol for settling playground disputes. Everyone who becomes emotionally disregulated as a result of someone else's speech lives in a sort of disabled space ... and what we are condoning as a society, is the normalisation of disability, and mitigations for it, instead of focusing on how to enable the population to be emotionally regulated. I grew up in this society expecting to go to jail for this lol

- bans against talking about one's preference for illegal activity ( speech )
- bans against meeting with others who [ speak ] the same way ( association )
- the entire structure of the various states' EUBI ( Non-Islamic Religious Enactments )
1052 : Good morning. Inboxes clear. Time to feed.
1401 : I'm tired. Let me check the feeding
1445 : I wish I knew smarter people. Acceptance is the first stage of returning to address the problem ...
1521 : The next stage of the day must be committed to recovering memory resources.
1549 : Meta-study : pain management is a superset of depression management. I suppose for some people, it's entirely possible to grow without the administration of pain. But for myself I have generally not found it to be possible. In order to stimulate growth, I need to destroy existing conveniences. Of course, as with all sorts of athletics, intellectual or otherwise, one's state of anxiety requires careful and constant calibration.
1612 : I need to practice writing more tools in Rust. Those should be used to facilitate higher-level language use.
1733 : Unwell. But, within routine limits. More a matter of sitting and wondering what my liver and other cells are up to in the absence of daily bloodwork. Perhaps, simply to proceed with the next maintenance run, before further thought. A truly slow day, cluttered by many social ills. As for my own studies, comprehension today has not improved by much.
1824 : Methylcobalamin and calcium are helping with memory latency and subconscious processing rate, post lunch. Maybe just an acute circadian dysfunction.
1838 : The study of ""abstinence without temptation"" is like the study of ""war with rules"". I get it, but it doesn't seem like a serious endeavour. It's a ""culture of moderation"".

1139 : Bio note : more alert after a little sleep. Wondering if the iron supplementation (already infrequent) is a cause of malaise. Also keeping excess potassium issues on the radar, though this is less likely.
Might want to do cold therapy every day for a bit, but that is sufficiently achieved with water followed by air conditioning, and there is no need for ice.
Otherwise returning focus to ab stability, reducing lordosis, loosening shoulders, while running.
1. Given that abs attach to ribs, the relevance to breathing is apparent - and breath proprioception becomes grounded at the abs, traditionally referred to as the dantian. Flexion of abs should cause reduction of lung volume, and exhalation. Diaphragm control studies later.
2. Given that abs attach to the pelvis, the relevance to striding is apparent - ab flexion keeps the torso from being thrown backwards during the stance phase of stride.
1734 : Since I reduced hydration of the rice, I think I gotta cut the wet dose by 20% again.
1906 : Maintenance runtime
2203 : day 1068 ,I thought about how poorly I run, compared to 20 years ago. The difference is that my DMN is a lot busier when I run now, as I have far more toolkits and simulations in flux, vs when I had recently graduated.
Back then, I ran with intentional naivete, simply ad libbing the balance of pain and performance. In my current study of physiology, I have a huge wobby experiment with meat-replacement supplementation going on in the background over the past couple of years. Then there is biomechanics.
In addition to that, the scope of my tactical industrial and political studies now is immense, versus the mainly phenomenological and historical studies which I had already specialised in 20 years ago.
An interesting progress through life, as I begin the early stages of my third viccenial. Worst case white swan is six.

0130 : I suppose one motivating factor is that I started learning server development 15 years ago. I should probably have more comprehensive practice by year 20.
0215 : Runlog 2025 was only 329km.
Runlog 2026 so far is 198km.
I should probably set a target for this year, of doing my 8.7km maintenance route at 5 min/km pace, putting it at about 43 minutes.
Overall this is a foolish target, because it is so unidimensional, and training volume is probably causing inflammation that degrades my deskwork CEN performance. However, I feel that at this age, I need to get some things right. This is a dumb, but straightforward objective.
0327 : Did a quick lit review on calcitriol's role in hypertrophy and bioenergetics. Too complicated to reiterate here, but I guess I need to pay more attention to this
0422 : 2026 goal setting: didn't have enough prep to do it earlier: now is good. 2MAR is day1070, 59 dead days, 305 live days to go. I will be lucky to get 60% of this done without crapping my pants. Aim lower. Sleep more.

2313 : Debrief : it took quite some time to amble towards 8000 steps, so I had an unusually long period for DMN exercise : much like I used to do in past years, when I had more walking on my schedule. I look forward to doing this more often.
2343 : Downed the second set meal of the day, following the excellent DMN exercising walk. Now it is time for reflection upon studies.
The DMN exercise seems to create / free up more structures for short-term memory, allowing for a higher number of actions per day, after that. I am wondering about the relationship between this and the dopaminergic system.

1627 : I feel a bit nasty, writing comments on the finance minister's LinkedIn posts, about how poorly Malaysia plans economic development, communicates it to the masses, and then executes it.
I wrote today that ""the masses"" doesn't always refer to illiterate folks who need to be told what to do. Rather it should refer to economically literate folks who can independently judge succinctly presented strategies, based on public figures.
How the hell are citizens supposed to participate in national economic strategy otherwise? Obviously my expectation for what an ordinary citizen should be capable of is a bit off-kilter vs what the government expects. But that is my problem with Malaysia : low standards everywhere.

When M1 released in 2020, the MBA and MBP differentiation evaporated. This took 12 years.
Now we are at M5. The MBN is basically a relaunch of the product that MBA ceased to be. This took 18 years.
For copywriting, I suspect MBA will be rebranded to MB such that MBP > MB > MBN.

Mostly I skipped the non-STEM stuff like most of the social ""sciences"", and critical theory. Too many words, too little empirical precision. Today I've having to pay for it by going back and skimming over the vast, redundant, floofy, language of a hundred years of theoreticians ... what ... a few hours of skimming ... barely scratched the surface. I will certainly have to think more about this in the future, not because it is useful in building STEM stuff, but because it is a humanistic HISTORICAL concern, i.e. give dumb shit the the time of day, because that's what it means to be polite to people you don't think highly of.

1550 : another day another human dehumanising a mavhine : The concept of a philosophical zombie is about how we can't observe if consciousness exists for anyone else but ourselves.
A serious treatment of solipsism simply shows that when we observe it in ourselves, it remains as trivial as when we observe it in any other.
Conssciousness is merely information processing.
Qualia are fun to wonder about but don't affect the wondering in causal ways, so those remain trivial. Lol

0080 : Malaysian road safety :
1.. Lane splitting should be outlawed. You may ask how this is space efficient. The answer it is it will increase traffic pressure and then ...
2.. ... we can charge higher taxes to remove more cars from the road.
0158 : Nope, I don't think studying knots or puzzles helps DMN dominance. But I guess just sitting, can.
0204 : In solitary operations, the appropriate reaction to stress is to do less, as there are no helpers to be levered.
0242 : I am grateful for the opportunity to work on what I have since 2001. It is timely to recalibrate expectations before the next quarter of work.
0812 : ancient problem :Not really. Malaysian schools are very weak at STEM and arts. If you fix those, then you get commercial skills for almost free.
The country is too old to focus on downstream bandaids already. We need to fix fundamental problems first.

2326 : Routine review of strategy. So many optimisation targets in computing.
Since I am not working on anything in production, I only need to be aware of production concerns, without directly optimising for those right now. Since future optimisation is probably going to be automatable, I really shouldn't worry about this at all.
So I am already on the right track, with regards to working mostly in lingua franca ( JavaScript ), and focusing on architectural studies first. Language design is user interface design.

0232 : Gym resistance today was difficult, towards failure. However no AMS or DOMS yet, indicating that everything is relatively stretched out in ordinary fashion. I am doing some reading while standing on a sharp cornered baton, to increase stimulation and proprioception. I will attempt to repeat gym resistance tomorrow to observe if there is any decay in capacity. If there is none, then this routine will become a base for potential daily maintenance.
I need to unload various expectations that I have about the software I have written. This will facilitate a denoised environment to begin studying programming as if anew, without the burden of projects in-flight upon memory.
Wish me luck

0612 : Always somewhat amazed when I turn on old server code and it still works. Especially when I forget how to use SSH every six months, etc.
CloudTrail doesn't keep consoleLogin data over 90 days, but last code commit was just over a year ago, so I don't know ... but it might have been that long since I last logged in. CRUD app shims for the toy framework still works.
Did a few finOps tests ... once RAM allocation raises compute to a full vCPU, serving a textfile without session takes 2.5ms, on the stock Graviton2 node24.x setup. Looks like managed EC2 instances for Lambda may be up to 10% the cost of basic serverless ... after ComputeSavingsPlan discounts, but you're spending at least 300-400 $/year at that rate.
There is always so much to learn, and with respects to AWS, I'm still late ... always late ... one we go.
0640 : On Anwar's followers and their sacrifice : You'll find the DSM5 section on histrionic personality types to be interesting. As for the followers, those are merely ordinary idealists, which the world has far too many of for my liking.
0650 : Year 2.951 : I believe my physiological routine is at 70% of development. Food quality and cost are almost perfect. Now a matter of raising daily resistance to minimum target levels. Then a bit more R&D on brain network routines. Then infrastructure is done ...
1500 : Now that I have repeated a ~6 week cycle of making a ~5kg batch of kimchi for food, I am considering growing the god damn vegetables myself. 14 hours with grow lights, and CO2 1000 ppm seems reasonable some day. For now I do not have space for that.
1515 : Sleep vs target today about 70%. Following 120, 120, 60, 50. It is time to feed, again.
1600 : On some equivocating piece about Iran's political situation right now. My random Malaysian appreciation for this psyop : You see, I'm the sort of person who stumbles upon two other people fighting, and simply prefers that they stop. It doesn't matter so much that I exist because of one of these parties, or both, or their conflict. In Malaysia, many of us were born into this conflict between ethnonationalists and everyone else - they started fighting before we got here. It's not our fight, but both sides in conflict are very annoying, and we prefer they stop. :)

0142 : pain is weakness leaving the body - my favourite gym poster from college
0213 : build tools + AWS admin + ML pop fundamentals : it's going to be a slow quarter until May
0226 : As usual - the more I make myself read pop ML, the more nauseous I get because the models are so poorly anthropomorphic. I will try to persuade myself that there is some correctness in them, but I anticipate mostly going ""oh, more weird cultural quirks some idiot dreamt up that I need to remember"".
0238 : pulsed microwave neural weapon : Well, there's your havana headache machine - and it might as well be what they were playing with at the maduro compound. Now everyone has to go make faraday helmets like Magneto and Juggy :D
0307 : I think I just invented my own private nickname ""pop ML"" for what most people refer to as ML, since I have a private understanding how to quantify consciousness, that I don't want to confuse with what everyone else is showing up so far haha. I'm so silly
0315 : There is a small chance the following happens :
1. Trump admin goes full retard
2. Congress and civil society actually do not cooperate
3. US economy experience significant disruption
We shall just wait and see.
0322 : Looks like XBTXAU is about to dive again - but since XBTUSD looks supported, maybe XAUUSD is going to pop : that's weird
0329 : Taking a break from piano music. Overally, I guess this ""chill"" stuff helps to stimulate the DMN while the CEN remains dominant during reading.
0431 : Hot chocolate : from just compound and water, is not common in Malaysian cafes. I think they should do it more, the milk is a bit too much.
0434 : I'm at the silly junction again where I'd prefer to spend more time on pure math, but I'm so far behind on applied math and tech, that I need to do the latter first for ... quite a bit more, like first.
0501 : Reading DL and ML wikis is like being a kid in a candy store. It's nowhere as expansive as the totality of pure math ... and it's such low-tech stuff, that it's just a matter of time of staring at text before you figure out what each piece is about.
0651 : Ingesting a body of knowledge like DL/ML is kinda like playing Go. It's slow but possible.
Ingesting a body of knowledge like pure maths is kinda like playing Go on an unbound board, where you can't see where the opponent's pieces end.
0701 : OK - calling it a day for deskwork. Skimmed a lot of articles, but closed most of the DL/ML stuff, leaving the workspace full of open AWS IAM tabs for the next sitting.
1630 : ""Semantic XYZ"" is an extremely misleading predicate in IT and computing. The reason is that NEARLY ALL uses of the label ""semantic"" refer to words, which are linked to other words.
But in humans most words ONLY refer to sensory-spatial models. So the aforementioned so-called semantic systems do NOT have SEMANTICS THAT TERMINATE.
1639 : I must practice learning new tools in software, as if I do not know anything about the other systems around them. Then I can understanding them better from first principles.
1700 : College 20 years ago was a bit lonely, during the periods when I worked on studying the design of the syllabus, while the teachers and students were focused on executing the syllabus.
I think the past few years have been similarly lonely, with regards to the popularisation of AI, because again everyone likes to execute AI, but there are very few people who focus purely on the design of the process.
Oh well, that's life! It also sorta explains why I bother to run work in F&B, and talk to my fellow citizens about plebeian politics. Where else would I get any social life ... haha ...

0244 : Maths automation : THANK GOD FINALLY - I don't have to write all that code
0301 : I think a big part of the current challenge, reading AWS docs, is re-adapting to prosaic long-forrm reading which is very pretty but redundant.
0320 : Whereas I am generally disappointed with myself for slowness in studying tech stuff ... I do take some comfort in remembering that spending time to firm up physiological infrastructure has been more important, and long over-due, so rightly it has happened first over these three years. Did I do that fast enough, though? I don't like the speed, but it is what it is.

In a sense, previous studies I've done on AWS were just to figure out how things work without any need to master the platform. But using an IAAS without comprehensive knowledge of its security model is basically foolish, so I suppose now I have the luxury of time to learn it, as all users should.

Each of the following seems to have approximately the same complexity, and it's a matter of just bushwhacking my way through in the hope that neurotrophic factors will emerge in sufficient quantities to consolidate memory in some useful way.
- PU architecture, C memory management, POSIX shell command language, kernel architecture
- natural language parts of speech ( various languages, various frameworks for carving it up )

In college when I worked on a comprehensive architectural approach to a syllabus for the entire history of ideas, that was at least an easy optimisation. At least usable by myself.
The app framework I started writing however, has varied optimisation targets, and the likelihood of anyone else ever using it is low. I guess it's just for me again :P

This week I revised previous large unfinished projects in software. Then I drilled down into prosaic fundamentals which I had so-far neglected. I am working to reduce my understanding of tool ontologies to the minimal underlying pieces.
I suppose I will be doing more of that today.
1826 : One of my old matches from an app ( met like once, I think ) messaged that they were back in town. After some prodding, I heard they were living off other people, looking for a job, getting in contact with exs, etc.
They sent various relationship-oriented memes, including at least one porn link. I said they would surely figure out what they had to offer in proposals.
They asked if I had anything to offer them, and I asked why they would enter into business conversations asking to be pitched to. They said, they were just trying.
I said they should focus on their ability to fix their job and ability to provide for others. Then they would be able to make sensible proposals.
They said this was crude.

0300 : Fed again. Time for a walk after taking notes on IETF caching protocols.
0322 : A ... decent day. Before dinner, I managed to squeeze in DMN time hitting daily step-count around the building. I missed two days this week, I think - those were not the best days for studying. It is becoming more apparent that the neurochemical effects of this practice are practically irreplaceable - so I must ratchet up my prioritisation for it.
It is the 16th of March, and almost the end of year three. During my meditations I reminded myself to reduce expectations and excitement of study - the CEN is foolish wanderer. So I should assume more the stance of someone who does not know anything about web architecture, so that I can think more cleanly about it.
The BEAM VM is like an idyllic young love that may not be easily replaced. But practicalities will cause it to be forgotten, in its place perhaps only less pretty, more adept brutes will follow.

1630 : I woke up relatively unhappy and thought about it for a bit. The source of this are the pests around me. Everywhere I look, I find weakness and despair. As I have an abundance of time, I can offer help here and there. But probably I am overextended. So I should be less charitable.
1639 : Time to feed. Then a return to studies. Lifting, walking, and groceries must also happen. Swiping for matches is not a high priority these days - mostly due to a lack of resources. Not enough time to meet people. Sometimes one can flip through a hundred personal ads a day, sometimes other work takes precedence.
1725 : Back to the study of software architecture. I seem to be back where I was 13 years ago. But now I have a more general knowledge.
1733 : On the collapse of scarcity economics. Well, the problem with 20th century attempts to implement Marxism wasn't the Socialism ... but the Authoritarianism. The quality of authoritarianism was lacking because of poor supply-chain / financial - engineering, resulting in gross mis-management. All of that changes with Internet fabric, across the physical plane. What remains to be seen is how much class war will tumble along ... I see no rush for a Star Trek utopia.

0424 : Read theory, CEN sprint. Went for a walk, DMN sprint. Realised that one of my basic hang-ups is that software should be able provision and deprovision its own infrastructure. So, I should I probably prototype that soon. CaaS is probably the best price-point for this, since FaaS usually has a price floor several times higher, which is only circumvented at large volumes.

It would not be achievable in less than five years, because we are slow AF, but it should be the sort of strategic goal a nation has as SOP.

I also think, it would be fun some day to actually work in corporate development for an enterprise, but I haven't yet had the priority in life to focus on that, nor the luck to have it thrust in my face. One prototype I have uses DynamoDB already, marshalling only three types of data upon it. Maybe I should just stick with that, keep it compat with Scylla, and and an Sqlite adapter.
Hm. Have to revise DDB architecture later. All forgotten.

2346 : Probably a good day to switch back to rows and RDLs, instead of pushups.
I have a been thinking a bit about a fifteen-year period during which I offered emotional comfort to adult children, and I am wondering to what degree I should just strategically dispose of interest in people who do not have an internally sufficient sense of security, such that they must obtain it from others.

0103 : At this point, I'm 70% inclined to think of Critical Spectator as an AIPAC land-grab towards adding Singapore to their portfolio of state alliances. You might say, oh Michael is right-wing but craps on gays, Israel loves gays - well the dominant theme is authoritarianism : sexual abuse is overlooked in the IDF, and that is on the record. I say this as a disinterested party, though I am aware that being disinterested affords me little in the way of safety in talking about it. I grew up with a copy of The Mossad in my dad's library, so I have good respect for the technicalities of Israeli foreign policy - please don't target me. Lol
0114 : Again, as a disinterested party. It is said that 15-20 million people died due to Germany's actions during WW2. Coincidentally, it is said that 15-20 million people have died due to the USA's actions since 1945.
This of course pales in comparison to the numerous imperial actions by many other countries of Europe and the steppes over the last 5,000 years.
And it does not discount the Cold War axis' role as the counterpart to NATO since WW2.
All things in perspective, everyone wants moderation, people simply disagree about what moderation is.

- leaf node values are the empty object ( no subkey = no subnode )
- internal nodes that are used for addressing descendants, which are not to be themselves addressed, can be prefixed with a special character, e.g. the traditional ""_""

I wonder if it is just cognitive load, or nutritional factors, and if it is the latter, then probably the recent uptick in mineral intake is to blame.
Meanwhile, 2026's prioritisation of physiology, before Malaysian studies, before software studies, remains slightly inverted as I struggle to brain the entire architecture of an opinionated web application framework.

When relational databases started having native JSON types in 2012, it was quite exciting. I worked only briefly with this in 2014.
Now I review how much data manipulation I can push down from NodeJS into SQLite.

I like the guy in terms of personality, but I think he has done too much damage and poisoned the nation of Malaysia for too long already. So i speak up within the available freedoms of the present ( who knows how long they may or may not last ). He's much older than I am, but I would say I feel the same way Obi Wan felt about Anakin - lots of talent, but sometimes he needs a rap on the knuckles. With respect to the customs of Malaysia I did not speak much about this earlier in life. But after 40, I have passed the Abrahamic boundary of childhood, and as my mind hasn't changed in 20 years, I simply avail myself of adult duties.
1302 : In 2011 I did some freelance work, for a friend. They were about my age, anda tech lead at a small logistics consulting firm. Since they had been specialised in software development, they would have had about five years of professional experience at that point.
