life among plebs

Awake again. Back at my desk. Year 4 begins today!

My struggle in recent months has been holding space for the crowds of idiocy that I surround myself with for anthropological purposes.

That is what happens if you allow compromises between caring for people, and learning how to be smart. The people will always consume more computation because there are too many of them, and they exponentially decay resource efficiency, because they are only interested in a small number of dimensions.

The popular ones of course are bread, circus, family, friends, and god. People who pursue these things are the reason the species persists at all, but as a side effect, the species produces wandering cells with limited empathy for the muscles.

why are we waiting

My prejudice : LLM + ATP + sensory data types + spatial modelling = human limit

Another paradigm (loosely) :

Free association ~= set union operations ~= DMN of human brain does more of this ~= synthetic operations on data ~= LLM

Logic ~= set intersection operations ~= CEN of human bran does more of this ~= analytic operations on data ~= ATP

... DMN and CEN and SN : go see triple network model of brain

Here's my noob read on Hormuz

Policy map

  • 1. USA : motivated primarily by xenophobia of Iranian independence, secondarily by appeasement of AIPAC/Israel; threatening to choke Iran
  • 2. Iran : motivated by xenophobia of US interference, directly or through GCC and Israeli proxies in the region; threatening to punch GCC/6 + Israel/7
  • 3. GCC : motivated by pragmatism; unwilling to anger the US along a shared materialistic axis; sipping tea and complaining
  • 4. Israel : motivated by imperial security; "I will stop attacking you if you, and your proxies stop attacking me"

Geography

  • 1a. Kharg is indefensible no matter who holds it, so the US threat of occupation is a more useful tool than any US occupation itself
  • 1b. Khorramshahr and the Shadegan Ponds seem like nice place to set up forward logistics. So they'd have to grab it via Basra ( Iraq ), near Kuwait, or something. Running exposed flank to Al Pakhsh looks crazy, but much easier if the US ships get into the Persian gulf
  • 2a. A beachhead near Bandar Abbas comes with civilian infrastructure and hostages. Not sure if anyone wants another Fajullah.
  • 2b. The US fleet is going to be stuck at the Oman gulf meanwhile.
  • 3. Securing both 1 and 2 would be a critical development, if successful. But again threats are more useful at this point.

Play

  • 1. The root of the situation is US-Iranian animosity. Deescalation of xenophobia is key
  • 2. If the US and Iran deescalate, Israel becomes political collateral, just a bargaining chip
  • 3. Israel doesn't want Iran to drop more crap on them, so it has to acquiesce to US leadership, if leadership picks this path
  • 4. A axial shift from Iranian isolationism to Israeli isolationism in the region is probably the funnest idea to think about.

temporary inconveniences & maleducation

We the majority, living and working outside of geopolitical professions, usually dwell on trade, civil justice, and daily life technologies, conveniently ignoring the greatest scope of force projections. The cope is understandable. Most of us barely have time to think beyond family and friends, about city and state, let alone regional and global politics.

Every few years we are reminded by a few niggling inconveniences, such as the halving of purchasing power, that a few dozen men and their few hundred lackeys work - without pause, over decades - subjecting millions to disease, famine, physical pain, and their subsequent cognitive effects.

But as soon as our inconveniences subside, say next year, or in five, we the majority will once more forget about life beyond the next Netflix'n'chill, family dinner, business deal, or rave.

Such is the state of education in this point in history. Incomprehensive.

nonsense formality : rdf / resource description framework

RDF study : so far it seems to be a problem of verbosity, and overallocation of significance to the concepts of subject, predicate, and object. Since there are no fixed definitions for { S, P, O }, it follows that there can be no fixed definitions for the relationships { SP, PO, } ( and by extension, SPO ). So the whole thing is just pointers, as binary functions, stacked to the 1st and 4th degrees.

( informal syntax scribling )

  • SP and PO are just 1-ary pointers
  • SPO is just a 2-ary pointer ( a pointer to a 1-ary pointer )
  • SPOG is just a 3-ary pointer ( a pointer to a 2-ary pointer )
  • SPOGM... is just a 4...-ary pointer ( ditto, etc. )

OK, back to reading. Now I have to try and falsify my hypothesis about this.

LLMs and mathematical "creativity"

Well, there are only two things in consciousness. Consciousness is information processes + qualia, and for this kind of discussion we can ignore qualia.

If mathematicians had a robust, quantified, understanding of how creativity works, from a phenomenological point of view, I am sure they might disagree that LLMs are not creative. Arguably, creativity is all LLMs do. ( Set union operations, associated with the Default Mode Network, synthetic thought. ) LLMs are simply bad at logic. ( Set intersection operations, associated with the Central Executive Network, analytical thought. ) But we have ATPs for that, so the parts are on the table, but they are not always put together nicely.

But what is the data? Well the data operated on by pure mathematicians is basically language ... the ability to discuss properties of language, and to identify unnamed behaviours of language, and to create new names and new grammar to discuss those.

If we go to applied mathematics, then we are simply back in the realm of physics, and we need to talk about machines have sensors, sensory data types that match human sensations, and then the ability to put that data in planes of space-time, and then to form and test hypotheses about that data.

review of life

I have not known impressive people, most of my life; but I have listened to many speak about their lives, and been friends with a few.

I have little interest in the political history of my country and planet, but I have spent now some months studying such things in public.

I have not been a foodie since decades past, but I would, and I did serve food in business. I do not think much of cars or clothing, but others do so I have studied such forms of thought and speech.

I find that life has little to offer, so it is in making a grandiose exhibit of nothing, that we partake of it in its fullness.

TNF-alpha and IL-1beta

Check out these two pro-inflammatory ( immune-response stimulating ) and somnogenic ( sleep inducing ) cytokines ( signalling molecules ) :

  • TNF-a ( tumour necrosis factor-alpha )
  • IL-1b ( interleukin-1 beta )

Consider :

  • "neurotransmitter interaction with tnf-a and il-1b"
  • "insulin interaction with tnf-a and il-1b"
  • "dietary mineral impact on tnf-a and il-1b"
  • "dietary protein impact on tnf-a and il-1b"

gasotransmitters : more systematic details

Oh fuck, nitric oxide helps sleep. I didn't note this before. I guess citrulline intake should be so-timed.

In parallel, I reviewed hydrogen sulfide (also a gasotransmitter). I have hadyears of allium consumption for therapeutic effect, without studying the mechanisms.

So they both sustains infrastructure for breath control, inflammation, immunity, sleep, and clock genes in muscle ... indicating the link between sleep and hypertrophy.

Fantastic.

You are going to say I am masking, ya 🤣

Don't like that la. A lot of people only have food, friends, fashion, art, and sex to look forward to. Lol

I call them plebs but I don't think they have options. It is an ordinary life. We should not be too eager to change the minds of unable people.

🤣

the liability of masked partners

I don't watch TV much, it's too slow. But I did spend many years watching TV on dates, as partners enjoyed it. This led me to understand that many people seek relationships where they can "unmask" in private, because their public social strategy depends on facades. I am good at facilitating comfort, but it is a pure expense to me - I am publicly vulnerable, and have little to unmask in private. So nowadays I aggressively filter against the trait of comfort seeking, in partnerships.

SOFR, IORB, EFFR

 US monetary policy studies :

  • 1. Borrowers of cash, sell repurchase agreements (repos). Lenders of cash, buy repos. Repo sellers put down USTs as collateral. This market determines the Secured Overnight Financing Rate (SOFR).
  • 2. The Fed lends to banks, charging Interest on Reserve Balances (IORB). Banks lend to banks, determining the Effective Fed Funds Rate (EFFR).
  • 3. Positive IORB-EFFR @ IOER spread, and positive IOER-SOFR spread, signify ample market liquidity.

heteronormative rejection trends

CW : sexual heteronormativity

Men and women reject prospective partners in different ways.

  • Women withhold ANY contracts.
  • Men withhold EXCLUSIVE contracts.

In both situations, we find reactions which range from graceful to chaotic. So it is meaningless to pin fragility in relationships on either gender.
