Mis-analogy about my approach to work

Lunch time networking hypothesis:
|
A typical cafe operator thought process:
(1) I like coffee.
(2) I will work as a barista. Now my life is paid for.
(3) Maybe I will own a cafe.
(4) Now that I have a cafe, I can grow to own more cafes.
(5) Now I have changed the world to have better cafes.
|
My thought process:
(1) I like math.
(2) I will work in any minimum wage job. Now my life is paid for.
(3) Owning one cafe is not efficient; I should run a fund of cafes; but we can start with one.
(4) Now that we have experience in running one cafe, we should aim to be able to charge every cafe in existence a dollar per week.
(5) Now we have a good story that is on par with the stories other people tell.

OK, back to work.

Condensate pipes as water features

Point of architecture: I can't believe I missed this before - air conditioner condensate pipes are modern water features; this is an underutilised idiom. | Air conditioners suck water out of air and put the condensate somewhere; they are effectively water pumps - which pump at a rate which varies based on the condition of the environment. It's quite pretty once you figure out what the design possibilities are for this - for simplest example, an aural tempo is established by the rate of dripping, which informs occupants about the state of water in the system.
