What is Love?

"Yes, generally. I told one partner, "my love is cheap, and easy to acquire." Or something like that.

Generally, people's feelings are like balls of yarn. If i say i love you, it just means i help you to unravel your ball of yarn, for fun, without asking for money as I would in a more commercial setting.

Yarn is fun. Some people don't want it unravelled. Some people do.

Getting paid to do it is also fun. For everyone else, there's love and friendship.

All the associations of "love" with obsession, dependency ... that's just philistine behaviour I want nothing to do with. Toxic nonsense. Prefer to avoid."

Culture is Process, Process is Culture

Culture and Process are the same thing.

Anyone who talks about company culture, who can't point to a bunch of SOPs, is bullshitting.

Contrapositively, anyone who says that they do things "by SOP instead of based on culture", is similarly wasted.

( There is a similar issue with people not realising Control and Communication also imply each other - but that is a slightly different concept - however, the similar ignorance of identities is worth noting. )

Trick post of course :

1. in low-context cultures, the culture and the documented process are the same ; these are easier to rationalise

2. in high-context cultures, the culture has undocumented processes which are harder to rationalise without a lot of digging

Basically I'm asserting a hegemonic view, saying low-context cultures are better for business :P

hierarchy of business priorities

This is the only hierarchy of priorities that matters in building most businesses. BEWARE, of employers who demand work at a lower priority, without supplying information and control about higher priorities.

\\ FIRST, HIGH \\

1. Regulatory environment.
2. Controlling financiers.
3. Resource pool ( superset of the talent pool and other supply-chains ).
4. Addressable market.
5. Marketing activities ... i.e. business and product devops.

\\ LAST, LOW \\

developing minds

Counselling young friends, who believe themselves to be inexperienced in managing emotions :

"practice analysing, verbalising, and reflecting, on experiences ... which have not yet been analysed, verbalised, etc."

Generally this is good. It is technically, process control. It is like a factory\ refinery\ production line.

In fact, it is a data pipeline.

It is precisely what a human must become good at within themselves, in order to become good at building such pipelines in AI.

how to be nice, without being stupid?

Civil socialisation. I enjoy empathising with people.

But slip up a little, and I become one of those retards who eats candy, gets excited about gifts, takes drugs, and worries about whether they can handle their loved ones disappearing the next day.

I have not figured out how to empathise with fools without actually playing their games.

It is a challenge, of life, to live as such ...
