Some peoples' greatests fears are : dying, being sick but not dying, being shamed, being abused, being alone, being poor. I do not list pain, because fear is just the anticipation of pain/discomfort.

In that sense my greatest fear is being unimpressed by the world. So generally I am seeking to impress myself. Some might call it avoidance of boredom, some might call it curiosity. I would not say it is different from the avoidance of other sources of pain.

Everyone has their own way about things.
