the tropical suit

There needs to be a tropical friendly structured and layered format standing in for the European suit. :p make it work!

pertandingan tak/rasis

Saya tak faham orang yang virtue signal dia, "aku tak rasis, dorang pula rasis". Tt+Pp : kita senegara, berperlembagaan etnokratik. Rasisme TERSURAT DALAM KEBANGSAAN kita. Inilah hakikat berperundangan. Sukaxsuka ianya kita.

Suka? Panggillah kebudayaan sebangsa Malaysia.
Xsuka? Panggillah kedukaan sebangsa Malaysia.

Termaktublah dalam jiwa kita!

How do theists think about the world?

How do theists think about the world?

---

Context : I read a lot of online discussion between Muslim and non-Muslim Malaysians, and it seems the non-Muslims have not always understood how to approach theists. I also recently hung out with my dad, and was reminded of how he thinks - my view is that for most of his life, God has been his best friend.

---

Purpose of the note : A brief introduction for non-theists / atheists / agnostics / a-religious / a-spiritual / mainly material-ist / non-deists / non-animist wankers. For the purpose of clarification, I have included as theists people who ascribe at all a minimal-or-greater personality to objects, animals, plants, humans, or anyther living thing whatsoever.

---

How do self-identified spiritualists think about the world?

Well to them, God is a person. To a theist, god has a mind, in the same ontological manner that non-god persons have minds.

The point : basically they think of God, gods, or spirits, as Persons. Usually, this Person or Persons, are engaged with the believer in the way that non-theists engage with other legally recognised entities in society.

For most people, their friends and family are persons, and so are their neighbours, colleagues, and the strangers in society around them. For others, animals are persons. For some, plants and other objects. For some, governments, but in a different way. For some, the universe as a whole.

For some, so are entities outside the universe - and they then develop their supporting notion of how communication occurs from outside to inside the universe. A deist simply foregoes the latter.

The final thing to note, is that for many theists, their best friend or favourite other mind is God, a god, or some other spirit which lacks material presentation. Without going into the details of how human cognition works about this, the important thing to note here is that God/s as favourite social partner/s, subsequently factors into the decision calculus of many humans. More so than the government, their spouses, family or other friends.

End of note.

---

* Well what is a person, in general?

We interact daily with entities we regard as cybernetic*, i.e., entities which have :

(A) control* mechanisms / intentions and projects

(B) communication* mechanisms / signals and meanings

* cybernetics is referred to here, using its traditional definition; control and communication may be further interpreted as two ways of naming and studying the same phenomenon.

VOLUME CONTROL

... throwaway Threads chat ...

Some people are discouraged if every other person they meet is not compatible.

Some people are discouraged if they didn't try to parse at least 100 candidates a day.

I guess we gotta try not to discourage all the different types of shoppers ... to make the world a nicer place for everyone.

Drive-by posting

( Wow, C's post was so interesting. I shared it around, hope it helps. I didn't know this group existed, the post just came up in my feed lol. )

Since I have no racial-anti-preference, I figured I'd drop one too. I too, speak English, Mandarin (forced to attend elementary school in it, hated it), and Malaysian Malay (did highschool in it, but only catching up on political and parliamentary stuff over the last 1-2 years.)

My name is Jerng. I live in Malaysia. I'm 43. Not seeing anyone exclusively rn. Have had monogamous and ENM relationships in the past. Relationships are not a huge priority in life for me, they're more like for fun. I tend to write on my dating profiles, "married to work, cheating with you. best if you're married to work too".

Since this is probably a US-oriented group, I should say more about geography. I did third grade in Mrs Linda Jonson's class at Wilmore Elementary, KY, yonks ago when my dad was attending seminary. I also went to college in Maine and graduated '05. Otherwise I've been based in Malaysia. Malaysia's a fascinating mashup of racial trauma with a state constitution - about 70% of the population is Muslim and they are subject to Islamic law, though the non-Muslims are not. So, smaller "official" dating pool. Might as well meet people. Anywhere I can. Lol.

Currently I'm busy being very poor and nerdy, catching up on maths and physical conditioning and hopefully later, macro-asset allocation. Trying for a 10-year study break, but not sure if I will make it. Lol. Pretty much tells you what my priorities are in life. I don't mind accompanying partners on normal stuff like TV, travelling, or eating out, but I almost never bother on my own except for work or anthropology.

Anthropology : so I find people sooo interesting, but I don't think most of us are very complicated underneath. During college I kinda figured out how to quantify all my own conscious experiences, and figured there weren't many more important things to do in life, so I essentially am just living it out to see what happens.

Anyway, long boring dorky intro must get cut short for verbosity now. Most of my social life is online. Hit me up if you have questions or like making strange friends in strange places.

Ciao ciao for now

Pakatan Harapan's "I am a Malay Muslim supporter" campaign

In case it's not clear why this entire campaign is a massive own-goal ...

1. it doesn't say why anyone should support PH

1.1. Let alone why Malayness is expressed in PH
1.2. ditto : Islam in PH

2. It doesn't address the concern that non-Muslims in Malaysia are a threat to the constitutional position of Islam

2a. Ditto : pridatangs, position of pribumis

3. therefore the first thing any opposing voter thinks is, "korang jahil, bersekutu dengan pridatang, menjejaskan bangsa, dan agama"

Empat Jenis Pridatang di Malaysia

EMPAT SPESIS PRIDATANG DI MALAYSIA

1. Ada orang jahil perlembagaan.

2. Ada orang fasih, tapi mengidolakan pemindaan.

Communism in Malaysia

Malaysian Communism : a historical strategic error seems to be, the misconception that violence is necessary for revolution.

Until 1941 : reasonably cordial oligarchy was maintained between the British and Malay rulers

1946 : the Malayan Union was an authoritarian approach to depowering the Malay rulers

1948, February : the Federation of Malaya superceded the Malayan Union peacefully

1948, March : Chin Peng starts planning armed conflict, and has people shot by June

Marx maintains however, that workers may achieve their goals through peaceful, legal, means ... hence Marx isn't outlawed in Malaysia, only parties with explicitly violent strategies.

Political ammunition in Malaysia

Constitutional extension of pribumi rights to pridatangs and non-Muslims, is quite controversial. And it is the root issue. So anyone talking about Malaysia-first without addressing the root issue is politically disadvantaged from the get-go.

If we are to treat elections as sport, perhaps the elections would be more sporting, if the election commission had the power to ban certain subjects from electoral campaigns. This seems unlikely in the near term.

How can multiracial parties, persuade pribumis and Muslims that their special rights will not be equalised? It is an impasse
