The Dumbfuck Economy

Most of us are dumbfucks - we do not steer the course of civilisation, we are steered by it. But dumbfuckery has cardinality, and so some of us are higher order dumbfucks and some of us are of the lower orders. It is not relevant to the ego, whom is which - we are simply what we are.

In economics, comparative advantage is determined by scarcity along lines of segmentation. So as time passes, we see that dumbfucks surge into this or that sector of the economy, due to opportunities. When a new business trend emerges, such as steam, electronics, software, big data, AI, etc. we find that through the natural flow of dumbfuckery, margins begin to increase as dumbfuckery increases within each business trend, before margins eventually compress once more. This is already well documented in literature on the cycles of hype in innovation, so we need not elaborate further on hype and efficiency.

So when automation is trendy, we find that dumbfucks also surge into areas which "cannot be automated", that is, art, and hospitality, among other sectors. So over time as trends move around, dumbfucks bifurcate into those who are aligned with the trend, seeking beta, and those who are capitalising on alternatives, seeking alpha.

It is always amusing to monitor trends, and to see how dumbfuckery naturally rearranges itself in the economy. That is, the dumbfuck economy.
