I was discussing relationships with a friend. It reminded me of international relations - some people say that IR is complex and nuanced. I think IR and interpersonal relationships are pretty much the same in the following way:
- relationships are simple for "high context" thinkers, as long as they remain in their context bubble
- relationships are simple for "low context" thinkers, as long as they refrain from moving high-context folks out of their bubbles
In the end, limitations are due to presumptions of context.
