What the hell is "big" data?
Analysis while driving to the bank:
Multi-Kilobyte per second operations are good enough for sensor readings, and metadata processing, so this is probably small data.
Multi-MB/s -ops are small application data, probably also what invertebrates bench (individual cells bench a lot more).
Multi-GB/s-ops are probably personal data, like photo libraries, also I guess a meat human peaks out around here.
Multi-TB/s-ops seems to start needing networked machinery, so I guess this is Big Data's historical context.
