So, #badVibesWeekend, right? I'm seeing a lot of callous calls for compassion for vendors and event organisers who lost a ton of money this weekend. Frankly, it's distasteful. It works - marketing for pity fucks generally works, but it's still distasteful. (Clearly aware, that it's also distasteful, to find some things distasteful.) Every single business involved in organising the event was aware of the risks involved and taking a gamble. Well maybe some of the less educated ones weren't aware of Malaysia's political environment, in which case it's a good learning experience.
If you date sensitive people, you expect temper tantrums. If you want fewer tantrums, you avoid sensitive people. Malaysia is by definition, a sensitive country. Artists are by definition, sensitive souls. Oppressed minorities are, by definition ... you see, it trends. Anyway ... we all celebrate these weaknesses. We all celebrate our communal pain.
That's just the nature of dating sensitive people. Suck it up. Get back to work.
