We've already rolled out internally some capabilities in marketing automation, and green/energy management. As usual I'm of two* minds about this. I believe all the following propositions are true. While (1.) there is space for addressing suicidal tendencies as a public health concern, (2.) there is also space to regard the final act of suicide as a celebration of each individual's free will. And I worry that they worry that others, like myself, do no allow their concerns to concern us, for the most part. Everyone builds a moat, while playing their game. Some people take their games more to heart, some do not worry when their games are written off, at all.

And on the world goes, a few organisms cooking up notions of justice, others raping innocents, all sorts dying left, right, and centre, as a result of offensive manoeuvres (or just their luck amidst the elements). I think teaching is tiring. Since selling is teaching, selling is tiring. This is why I tend to avoid active selling. No, I do not believe in getting excited about what is being taught/sold. No, I don't think people... who get excited about what they teach/sell... are very interesting. I am only interested in the dispassionate ones. I wondered for a moment, if I was too young or too old to make the most of college. I basically behaved like a PhD student in an architecture designed for bachelor's degrees, and moved into my own study program after deciding that my interests were not facilitated by the organisation - this is the argument for having been too old. I also had a lot of rudimentary knowledge to catch up on, which is basic canon, or contemporary advancement, and I woild have benefited from having studied that prior to college, so that college could have been more focused on the political form of publishing. Oh well, too many silly thoughts before one gets out of bed, the goldilocks problem shall be assumed to be a non-problem.

Risk management is the theme of the month. At the minute to minute level of operations, short term memory is almost fully loaded with only a subset of all ongoing operational risks. A lot of swapping happens. I have financial risks, and market risk, succession risk, mechanical risk, fire risk, electrical risk, hydraulic risk, biochemical risk, (sooo much biological risk), share of voice at risk, public relations risk, and a few other things. We have three guys who moved 3,700 kilometers just to be able to work here and put up with shit from me on a daily basis, one guy who might as well be retired, and then some others, including a bunch who threatened to blow up the operation at a moment's notice, so all in all I tend to move very, very, carefully... especially when working on projects with higher electrical and explosion risk. While I did train myself in 2012 to burn my own money, burning other people's money comes with its own set of concerns. Whereas I am not personally affectionate towards my flock, I only own 10% of every decision that I blow up, and so I have this novice tendency to have a 90% weight on how much I should reflect on things before committing them to my usual target of a 50% failure risk rate. One moves less than judiciously, too often. I am sad, but for the most part I identify it as a psychosomatic reaction to being physiologically tired. On we go. Same shit, different day.

I'm motivated by active control over greater degrees of freedom, as I find that's where my competitive advantage lies. Hotels, restaurants, and cafes, are already complicated. People ask me why I want to do my suppliers' jobs for them. I don't - but actually I can't find the suppliers that I want from design, to construction, to compliance, to agriculture, to quality control, to operations staffing. So I would like to build out the entire supply chain, at a quality, and cost, which meets my demand. Measurements of delivery should be exacting. I want to know of no link in the chain which has greater than a 10% net margin, with higher than 30% variance. If we build internal capabilities for these, I will be happy to divest and use the divested operations as our suppliers. If we do not divest, I expect to sell these very services. This is a very basic business model which had been executed in other verticals by some of the largest companies in the stock market. I do not think we are guaranteed to succeed, but I am also disinterested in other models at this time. Do your best to convince me otherwise. :)

I was thinking about competitive fund raising, and why I don't prioritise it very highly. Fundamental to the nature of that enterprise is an enthusiasm to convince, and in that category I am too easily underwhelmed... by how easy it is to convince people by hacking their senses of empathy, with hope, and cheer, and comfort. It motivates me very much instead to feign disinterest, while at my core I am closer to apathetic. Hate is always a stronger lever than like, as hate (we all know, now from pop culture) stems from fear, which is a stronger lever than love. Sheer terror is vastly more marketable than amusement, and that is why beauty, and wellbeing, are lovely industries to play in. Anticompetitive, anticharismatic, anticool - I never thought I'd see that alliteration, but those are the scripts I have developed, and those are the things I do. My life is littered with people who have walked their way in, and then out of it, perhaps after they learnt enough about me to orientate from like to dislike. A curious observation about how business functions are regarded by people. Each C-level executive essentially manages the supply-chain for a variety of currency. However, some currencies are regarded as being more fundamental than others, but those would be biased views.

It's been a messy year for sex. Work has been an avalaunch of nonsense due to internal weaknesses born of fear and trembling (not mine), since 18 months ago. My best friend fell sick, and I played nurse for the better part of two quarters. We do not touch each other, any more, in certain ways; we are still in love. Other partners have simply been displaced by their higher priorities - some wishing to fuck on occassion, would usually have found me unprepared - I do not have the luxury of keeping fit, and generally perform mucccch better when there is a plan on the calendar. Also, the past four months have required me to ingest an intuition for Rankine cycles, and it has been intellectually exhausting, given that the environment for this study has been an infant business in operation under loaded conditions. Sometimes I wonder if I have forgotten how to plumb a woman. Then maybe I spend a little time trying to remember how to plumb myself. Being a polymath is hard. Yesterday I was reading up on thermodynamics and fluid cycles, when some drunk person totalled my stationary car, so then I had to swap in my knowledge of how to engage police reports, tow truck touts, and insurance claims, in the process of doing so, I had to swap in again my knowledge of hosting and entertaining neighbours and strangers over food and beverage; then I got a bit of sleep, and took over floor operations for a restaurant for a few hours, including coffee calibrations (more swapping), while preparing documentation on the earlier events (swapped in slide layout and legal copywriting), and calibrating our refrigeration systems (more swapping); then I had to shop for the shop (swapped in procurement management); then I had to entertain my best friend whom I had borrowed a car from (more swapping - usually we are talking about sex, and counselling other people); then a nap; I still hadn't managed to get back to to thinking about air conditioner design, when I had the opportunity to chat up a new match (swap in the usual rigamarole of dating interview technique - what are your concerns, rules, sensitivities - do you touch yourself, do you enjoy touching others, blah blah); then I was thinking about something I had read on ontic vs epistemic vs ethics concerns, when I reflected on how first/second/third-person syntax is just a way to notate cardinality of minds (one mind, one mind aware of other minds, one mind aware of other minds aware of other minds). Fuck, and now that I had made these notes... there's now an increased probability that I will again, have to engage with the political rhetoric of commenters requesting that I add resources to restructure my modus operandi, when structuring my MO is literally the core of my MO. Oh well, on we go... having taken the time to document the past day, I have decided to to now eat and nap some more before work.

Being a polymath is hard. Yesterday I was reading up on thermodynamics and fluid cycles, when some drunk person totalled my stationary car, so then I had to swap in my knowledge of how to engage police reports, tow truck touts, and insurance claims, in the process of doing so, I had to swap in again my knowledge of hosting and entertaining neighbours and strangers over food and beverage; then I got a bit of sleep, and took over floor operations for a restaurant for a few hours, including coffee calibrations (more swapping), while preparing documentation on the earlier events (swapped in slide layout and legal copywriting), and calibrating our refrigeration systems (more swapping); then I had to shop for the shop (swapped in procurement management); then I had to entertain my best friend whom I had borrowed a car from (more swapping - usually we are talking about sex, and counselling other people); then a nap; I still hadn't managed to get back to to thinking about air conditioner design, when I had the opportunity to chat up a new match (swap in the usual rigamarole of dating interview technique - what are your concerns, rules, sensitivities - do you touch yourself, do you enjoy touching others, blah blah); then I was thinking about something I had read on ontic vs epistemic vs ethics concerns, when I reflected on how first/second/third-person syntax is just a way to notate cardinality of minds (one mind, one mind aware of other minds, one mind aware of other minds aware of other minds). Fuck, and now that I had made these notes... there's now an increased probability that I will again, have to engage with the political rhetoric of commenters requesting that I add resources to restructure my modus operandi, when structuring my MO is literally the core of my MO. Oh well, on we go... having taken the time to document the past day, I have decided to to now eat and nap some more before work.

If smart is defined by the size of one's (short term) working memory, then I'm generally not a very smart person. I just happen to have groomed myself into owning a good grasp of data structures, which make it easier to context-switch between disparate bodies of knowledge due to how things are cut and labeled in my head. This is pretty much what nakes me a "robot" in the colloquial sense - I am able to disassemble every conscious experience into a MECE set of data, and so I can reassemble it easily at other times. That being the fundamental framework of my mental life, I still learn as slowly as anyone else... for example, in 2019, I'm learning a lot about plumbing fittings, and domestic implementations of the Carnot cycle (steam, refrigeration, etc.). So this being a relatively new body or knowledge, it's probably still banging around in the neurons responsible for mid-term (interday scale) memory, which is more emotionally engaged, and not yet transferred to long-term memory (interyear scale). So I do feel awkward and nervous as I go about work, switching between plumbing, accounts, compliance, refrigeration, SEM, talent management, etc. on an intraday and intraweek basis. Looking forward to stuffimg this very basic set of new skills into long-term memory and moving on soon. Grunts.

Often I get comments that I make myself struggle unnecessarily. I think these commenters are correct. As an individual, I am generally happy and far-removed from the struggle of needing to keep myself alive. It is much harder to figure out a good reason, the methods are many easy - it's very easy for me to figure out how to stay alive, but nearly impossible for me to figure out why I should bother. This is a great privilege. While most people run around trying to achieve something to hold their fragile egos together (ambition), or to eke a smile put of those who have social influence upon them (love), to relieve themselves of pains of hunger or sickness (aversion), or to build a better world to prop up their ideals for humanity (idealism)... wait, I think I belong in the last group. I too am so bored (ok, maybe it is not the last group, but another one) that I have only ideas to pursue. Unfortunately for many spectators, my ideals for humanity are stark. People are generally concerned with one jihad or another, one yoga or another, one kampf or another... is it not ok for me to seek harder problems, when I am unburdened by lesser ones? So, let me tell you, that is why I bother to do something difficult, like run a better restaurant on crowdfunding. It is because no one would pay me enough to get me to attack a less interesting problem.

A noteworthy day. I have been up for about twelve hours, will soon recline, and then rise for a shift that begins three-point-five-hours from now. I write this over the table of a fast food restaurant. Most of my day was spent in the kitchen, building an indirect evaporative cooler, from parts previously assembled. Along the way: coaching temporary staff in low tones with gradually increasing urgency by the third or fourth warning on a specific point of order. Along the way: cleaning of a shelve that was supposed to have been cleaned by another staff the day before - business now out of order, and many accidents occuring. Clean-up! Result of cooler iteration: fan mounting is inappropriate, and will require adjustment. Gravity driven heat exchanger working perfectly. Temperature drop, meagre, it has been better - but I look forward to reviewing this after the fan mounting has been adjusted, and air-water mixture improved.

A noteworthy day. I have been up for about twelve hours, will soon recline, and then rise for a shift that begins three-point-five-hours from now. I write this over the table of a fast food restaurant. Most of my day was spent in the kitchen, building an indirect evaporative cooler, from parts previously assembled. Along the way: coaching temporary staff in low tones with gradually increasing urgency by the third or fourth warning on a specific point of order. Along the way: cleaning of a shelve that was supposed to have been cleaned by another staff the day before - business now out of order, and many accidents occuring. Clean-up! Result of cooler iteration: fan mounting is inappropriate, and will require adjustment. Gravity driven heat exchanger working perfectly. Temperature drop, meagre, it has been better - but I look forward to reviewing this after the fan mounting has been adjusted, and air-water mixture improved.

My view is that the end-game is a co-horeca, so you can call it whatever you like, but the social networking is a frilly thing that always existed under another name. Fundamentally the industry is about infrastructure provision: "we are an infrastructure business". So just consider the Maslov* hierarchy (including wifi) and deploy your business according to those priorities, and you will be fine. Tactically, an examination of the hierarchy and the immediate whining of your customers will tell you what you need to install next, whether it is a swimming pool, a pool table, a washing machine, a gigolo, or a desk. (* whoops, Freudian slip?)

As a very loopy extension to the point above... horeca businesses are positioned to manage a complete sensory experience for customers.
