I devoted ten to twenty years to studying the lives of poor, and middleclass, non-Muslim Malaysians, but I did not find them less stupid across time. I examined their loves of family, friendship, and food, and their begrudging pursuit of occupations, hobbies, holiness, sophistication, and other social contexts. And while I understood much of what I observed, I did not find them to be more interesting, over time.
There is an overarching concept, in anthropology and philanthropy, that if you spend more time to understand the culture of a stupid person, you can come to an appreciation of them which is more enriching to yourself. I am not sure that I have been successful here.
Dusk light mechanics are helping serotonin a lot, today. I reflect upon my studies.
