What does it mean to manage relationship resource allocations, strictly?

 I think very few people actually manage their relationship resource allocations strictly.

For example, if 4.5 hours per week are allocated to my wife, and [ outside of that 4.5 hours ] someone asks me :

  • - "do you love your wife?"
  • - "can you buy a loaf of bread for your wife?"
  • - "have you seen your wife today?"

Then it is highly probable that the following responses may result :

  • - "huh?"
  • - "wasn't thinking about it"
  • - "why are you asking me this at this time?"
  • - "no resources to find answer"
  • - "answer unknown"

This is proper management of time. Or memory, or memory-time, whatever you want to call it. (Memory is a spatial dimension.)

Of course this applies to all business projects in general, including social relationships.

What the hell is a Business Analyst anyway?

 What's your favourite job title?

Today HR asked me "what is the difference between a Business Analyst and a Data Analyst?" I thought about it and decided to attempt a comprehensive answer.

  • BUSINESS ANALYST : analyses everything; maybe more focused on P&L impact ( business ); maybe more qualitative ( less data : modern definition );
  • DATA ANALYST : analyses everything; maybe more quantitative ( more data : modern definition ); maybe not just business ( R&D? Measures of prettiness? Does this data SMELL nice? );
  • QUANT (-ITATIVE ANALYST) : same as Data Analyst, but more GENG/BOOM sounding;
  • DATA SCIENTIST : same as Quant but should understand scientific method (a lot of people who call themselves scientists actually don't understand the -formal- Scientific Method);
  • STATISTICIAN : this is a definitive specialisation;
  • DATA ENGINEER : also a definitive specialisation;
  • MACHINE LEARNING ENGINEER : also a definitive specialisation - does not imply actual comprehension of statistics, though that would certainly help;
  • ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE ENGINEER : my dear, if you can define intelligence satisfactorily, I would be happy to entertain your definition of  its synthetic counterpart;
  • etc.

I had a boss who was like, "you're chief tactician," I'm like, "wha?" he's like "it's from F1," - I don't watch F1. It was weird.

Prioritisation of Social Relationships, as a Fragment of the Week

Question for people who set aside time to be in social relationships. How much (total) time PER WEEK do you allocate for (all) your partners to be the TOP priority? Top means, you drop ALL other items if they call.

100%, 168 hours - seems quite common

80%, 134 hours

60%, 100 hours - similar to a dedicated profession

40%, 67 hours - similar to a busy job

20%, 33 hours - similar to a relaxed job

10%, 17 hours

5%, 8.4 hours - this is higher than my total (since 2008)

2.5%, 4.2 hours - this is for intimate partners

1.3%, 131 minutes

0.6%, 60 minutes

0.3%, 30 minutes

0.1%, 10 minutes

Most people don't know until they think very carefully about it. And then they are surprised if they face a mess. Don't be messy. Marie Kondo that shit.
