Systematically Boring

It's not that I find emotions in particular to be low in value as things in themselves - sure they have value when perceived in isolation. Rather, I find the concept to be poorly defined, and largely unquantified in the minds of most people - and that is what makes it poor in value. In a space of infinite complexity the ratio of things which are novel to trivial is close to 1. Emotions are systematically boring, because they are an intermediate state between past and future civilisations, just like the human genome and our bodies in general.
