polite generalisations

 It is impolite, generally considered, to talk to people about their vulnerabilities, lack of true agency, subjectivity to preconditions, predestination in physical terms, and of life's futility in general ... when they prefer to celebrate a sense of personal accomplishment, which is contradictory to the above. (In cases where the two are orthogonal, it is then not impolite.)


That is why I prefer to talk about humanity in general, rather than to speak to every individual I meet about themselves.
