As I was scrubbing some tiles today, I thought ... about the recruitment process, and the glorification of career advancement. I've also noticed this has become a part of grassroots university access efforts like the US applications group I have helped in the past.
There is a strong theme of middle-class enablement. "We're helping you to show rich people, that you're worthy of helping them out!"
But often there is little, or no, emphasis on personal development ... so I think, I would like to remind everyone who works in career development, to always know how any opportunity benefits the candidate, regardless of acceptance from second parties.
Recruiters, know your shit, please.
