0025 : As much as I would like to return to verbal studies, I should clear more electronics and clean up those picture frames first
0040 : down
0708 : Kelemahan akal dan kemerosotan adalah ketanggungan budaya kita yang memupuk tidur, makan, lancong, dan talian persaudaraan ketimbang kerangka keunsuran.
1500 : up, 14 hours down, including a break for food
1559 : At this point, for pure dramatic value, Emma Watson could go into disguise as a poor crazy person for a year, travel the world, and then write a book on what she thinks about JK.
1832 : I was discussing class and manners with an offended friend
Rich people also tend to prefer manners because that is how they differentiate themselves from poor people
But these are games, and I don't always wish to associate with rich people, so I enjoy making fun of their manners
haha
1938 : Chances that the WH will use the gov shutdown as leverage to create talking points about withholding military pay?
2010 : Time to feed. Again. Eating is such a chore.
2034 : 133k, let's go
2236 : I was telling a CEO type person who expressed that folks they hung out with were more anxious than I was. Based on theuir description, they were concerned about monetary affairs. My comment to them was, rich people are usually worried about losing money, or losing ways to make money. I also made a point to express a little urgency when they picked up a call during our meeting. I haven't seen them since.
Another friend today discussed with me the semantics of rich and poor. My opinion is that people who are actually rich don't bother much about being called rich or poor. But a lot of folks who aren't sure about what they are worth, become incredibly anxious when called either rich, or poor.
2339 : Done storing picture frames which i have no priority now to deploy. Probably gotta rest a bit before forcing my ass off to kajang for another gear run.
2350 : Teaching odd things to disadvantaged people is laborious. Sometimes I really shouldn't bother.
Thu 2Oct2025, Sabbatical2 @2.518years ( year3; month31; week131; day919 )
0123 : Funny how a ten minute loading manoeuvre can keep me hung up for months. Unfamiliarity breeds contempt. Meanwhile we have the rest of the population hung up about language use and name calling. I guess everyone has their own shit to deal with.
Better to prioritise removal of fragile elements when risk models deem them unnecessary. Important to keep in mind the risk models that do, for regular review.
0303 : Knowing how to administer oxytocin to oneself just by thinking about it is a great discipline that everyone should master. After that, relationships move into the realm of business and status symbolism, not everyday necessity.
0352 : Hour 14. Just in time for bed. Markets are popping though
0704 : 1962, Walmart sets the template that Starbucks will follow. Any earlier examples of talent management? Sure
0705 : hour 17. already eaten. enforced sleep
1425 : Well today I'm holding actual cash in my crypto portfolio.
I have been fully invested for the longest time, and it's rare that I don't actually know what to buy.
It also probably means I will simply make a poor buying decision later, rather than now
1535 : Gotta go find some sheet metal to fix aunt's backdoor later. Everytime they're indecisive, i just fix something first and tell them later
1551 : Looks like sleep came in at 80% of target today.
1830 : Hour4. Time for data entry.
1902 : Spreadsheet maintenance.
2006 : HDMI cable failure
2007 : Portfolio losses reduced from -69% to -23% since Dec ...
2034 : Er ... hour ... 5. Time to feed again?

0044 : Up hour 9. Dopamine check.
0115 : Up hour 10. Mental conditioning. Active management of dopamine generation is more effective, without external stimuli. Calibrating.
0208 : Now the difficult part. Structuring our sells into the inevitable crash.
0430 : 14th up hour. down
1720 : Why is every other Palestinian sympathiser now an expert in Greta's personal life AND the autism spectrum lmao
1734 : Orang yang mementingkan bangsa, budayanya kolot. Yang menumpukan negara, ketamadunannya terlalu ringkas. Kalau nak membahaskan perkara satu spesis dan tatakelola sedunia, barulah menarik minat.
2114 : Installed blinds for aunts.
Checked market.
Napped.
Updating tomorrow's event schedules.
Time to feed again.
2259 : While the market's up. Gotta think about training harder. And to avoid being dragged down by slowpokes.
Sat 4Oct2025, Sabbatical2 @2.523years ( year3; month31; week132; day921 )
0104 : Having trouble getting enough fat back into my diet. Considering switching from soy protein isolate to soy flour.
0248 : Thoughts return to dopamine control.
0319 : The season of waiting is a time of enforced rest.
0600 : Ok, Hamas is at the table about releasing hostages. That's just the Gaza peace plan.
If you think Gaza's messed up, check out the Oslo II Accord and its treatment of the West Bank :p
Sun 5Oct2025, Sabbatical2 @2.526years ( year3; month31; week132; day922 )
1923 : Time to review cash asset allocation.
For the past few years, it's been effectively zero to 1%.
Should it be 10%, 20%, or 30% ?
15% seems reasonable
2140 : Let's see how much market data I can brain before i put myself back to bed.
Mon 6Oct2025, Sabbatical2 @2.529years ( year3; month31; week132; day923 )
0037 : Market is up, so I am YOLO buying a skateboard. I lost my first skateboard around 1994 in a park nearby. I bought it with $15 i made from splitting a volume reading competition top prize from a church in Kentucky, where I cheated by gaming the KPI of book reports ... I didn't actually read all the books. There were only two of us way ahead of the other competitors, a white girl, who looked a little grouchy, if memory serves me right.
What is justice? I don't know. But I know what an exam is, and how to deal with it, I suppose. Maybe the new skateboard will be the death of me.
0122 : hot take : barring black swans and any kerfuffles in Ukraine or the Middle-East ... industry should have calibrated to US monetary policy and we'll get a bit of a ride in 2Q-4Q26. Might even show up a soft landing for that stupid AI bubble.
0216 : I was reading about the chemistry in Breaking Bad, and found relatedly that PopPops fireworks aka BangSnaps are silver fulminate
0402 : It is quite amusing to read the popular press on reasons why people don't want to date anymore. I could probably spend more time writing about how dumb and ineloquent most people are in their forms of thought, but i'd rather just spend energy working the funnel. Lol
0430 : down. rather backlogged on sleep
0441 : I've been observing a friend who engages involuntarily with the suffering of other people. This is a popular concept, of course, and the stuff of romance and charm. They're basically just what you would ordinarily call a family-oriented or people-oriented person. Since a great number of people in the world, rich and poor, are like that, I generally adopt their ways and cooperate with them to the extent that it conveniences me, without compromising my view that involuntary engagement is just a trait of idiot children.
Meanwhile, I've also been helping number of friends and family to sort out their home hardware. But what you have to understand is that I don't do it more for these people because I like them more than others ... I just do it because I have access to them, and they have come to make these social opportunities available to me. generally I don't place too much interest on individual counterparties, and prefer to focus my life on abstract classes : smart people, pretty girls, society in general, that sort of thing.
One doesn't choose one's opportunities, only how one reacts to them.
1440 : Down hour 10. Met quota. Up for the day
1457 : Oops. Mistimed my cash withdrawals and will pay the CC late this cycle. HAH. Discipline has SLIPPED.
1503 : Bye CTOS score lol
1520 : Pattern : ""can't say no to request for help""
(A) this is what makes us human
(B) this is pathological
I'm a hard B lol. If there is anything to be envied here, I think you should have the ability to decide against dispensing resources, which enables the book-keeping of a favour dispensed.
Of course, the freeloader strategy applies to the harvesting of unaccounted favours!
1546 : time to feed
1812 : 3Q25 : negative cash flow analysis : spent MYR 2375 (68%) more than the minimum quarter over the period under consideration
1836 : Nutrition today : sipped oil from a cup. Washed it down with coffee.
2008 : 20g palm oil 180Cal ... quick and easy. Bit of cleanup required though.
2132 : 7th up hour. More feeding. Chit chat with friends
Tue 7Oct2025, Sabbatical2 @2.532years ( year3; month31; week132; day924 )
0009 : Saya rasa, kalau satu hari nanti tercukup bosan lagi kaya, saya nak buka parti politik yang janji tak sentuh pasal bangsa dan agama. Kasi troll kao isu kewangan dan STEM je.
0132 : I am most amused by the commentators asking readers to imagine various tortures that the GSF detainees could have been subject to, despite no mention by the detainees. Well, that's a great comms campaign. Haha
0140 : Up hour ... 11. Preparing myself for elementary studies of electronics repair. Chatting with a friend about the nature of relationships. Having eaten the second rice of the day, I am considering physical exercise. 11/14 is 79% of the waking day. I am learning to manage this now in more detail.
0203 : Alright. Gonna work on pushups. Been meaning to for a while
0339 : I really need to upgrade to surgical tweezers
0432 : Late to bed. Past up-hour 14. Fixed socks and did pushups.
0457 : ( talking to friend : how to find compatible dates like this? )
- comfy with living and dying daily, ergo
- uninsured, and accepting of min wage, while
- managing $ for sport, not survival, and
- building a career about demonstrating that human minds are trivial, and fundamentally the same as other animals and machines, hence
- unemployed for a target of 10 years, and
- preferring a 4.5 hr/wk significant other/s whose relationships are not primarily defined by emotion, but by explicit T&Cs
0527 : Had a quick read on cluster B. Now wondering why i feel like cluster B when my general sense is that everyone else is more emotionally unstable than I, and so i make fun of them /dsm
0609 : After 3 years of this shit I just wanna liquidate my portfolio and take a nap. Unlikely scenario
0719 : approaching up hour 17. late to bed.
1248 : down 5 hours, and then checking the feeds already
1804 : TIL laurel leaf = bay leaf = largely eucalyptol
1805 : sixth up hour. moving shelves from rear to forward bases
2258 : 10th up hour. And the hard part is donem Six units, six foot tall shelves dismantled, packed, walked down three storeys, and moved to KL. Assembly tmr"
"Wed 8Oct2025, Sabbatical2 @2.534years ( year3; month31; week132; day925 )
0012 : Sometimes I can't believe how complicatedly my life has been developed.
0102 : 13th hour up, resuming down time. Had only half target sleep yesterday. Accomplished little today, or a lot, depending on lens.
0256 : So in case you're wondering about the sudden drop in crypto prices : XBT had been tracking XAU all week as both had new ATHs. But XBT then ran up against a resistance trendline ( technical analysis i.e. music theory ), which spanned from 2017 to 2025. XBT failed to break above that line, so it bounced down.
But that is a matter of music. If DXY continues its fundamental plummet, we should expect XAU to keep going up, and XBT will inevitably track XAU in the short term.
XBT fans are of course hoping for a steepening of resistance, and more parabolic inflation. BTC.D may go as high as 70-75%, depending on momentum. Momentum is of course, just a mask for sentiment, and exuberant sentiment will eventually lead to rotation. Which is what fans of OTHERS.D are waiting for.
0317 : Often, I find the casual marketing spiel to be too manic about life. I don't want to live in a society where people crave life and fear death. But marketers don't want to be sued, and states need to maintain productive populations, so there is that.
Then I realise that people are actually quite happy to pass away, as long as they do so having their sort of fun ... smoking, drinking, drugging up, eating, fucking, travelling, loving, watching anime, karaoke, whatnot.
Fewer people would be happier forgoing these things, in favour of studious pursuits. Ergo I conclude my general tendency to complain that people are generally dumb, remains spot on. Most people are trying to die for dumb reasons. A few prefer to die for smarter reasons, but they are harder to find.
1347 : Messy catchup sleep session over 13 hours. Some writing and other management protocols in between. Time to feed. Shelves need cleaning, assembly, and arrangement.
1352 : People live such messy lives. They don't keep track of their hormonal cycles from interactions with food, sleep, and social events, and business risks.
And then when something goes haywire, they start looking for a cause. Maybe the cause is a lifetime of unmanageable operations.
But it is normal to be unmanaged.
1953 : Up hour six. Shelves assembled and placed. Not yet secured. The other activity of the afternoon was mediating family negotiations. All in, a productive quarter of a globe spin.
Thu 9Oct2025, Sabbatical2 @2.537years ( year3; month31; week132; day926 )
0056 : Up hour 11. Some stuff has moved from the living room to the office. This is like flower arrangement but for built environment lol
0300 : skateboard had already arrived yesterday. $13.20 . Less than I paid for my board in 1992. I love progress. Now I wonder how long it will be before this becomes another useless relic in my house of toys. #jerngvsgear
0332 : 2025. Started sipping food oil while researching diets. Reminds me of liquor, if you're lucky enough to get oil that tastes nice.
0500 : Ber Tumpuan
Ber Kewajiban
Ber Niat belaka
Sapa pulak ni
0546 : Day 926. Unanticipated hardware consolidation of two campuses was achieved this week. I could get rid of Kajang at this point, but I'm not feeling any urgency to do so. Am I foolish? Probably.
Review of book studies. While I'd like to continue 1H25's thrust into formal languages, I think the market is telling me to catch up on economics.
:(
0605 : up hour 16. time to crash. nice rain sounds today
0725 : Maybe it is time to start allocating to crypto large caps before gold starts to crash.
1401 : Hair loss is increasing my housekeeping burden. Soon I will revert to skinheading. I don't have a use for hair, so the sooner it all falls out the better : pretty much the position i adopted in 2005, and look where we are now ... hair everywhere. Phooey
1412 : Not much sleep today. Getting up to get back to work on other things.
1427 : Maybe I am just too chill, and therefore require what others might consider soul-crushing odds in order to feel slightly more than sleepy, every day.
2340 : Pensive. Going to accompany a friend in need. Back to work tomorrow
Fri 10Oct2025, Sabbatical2 @2.540years ( year3; month31; week133; day927 )
1430 : Ticer? Oh teacher pulak
1958 : X : Jerng the gov is gonna give you $950 to get rid of your car
Me : / googling / ... it's a rebate if you buy a brand new car, sorry, not happening on my account // There is also a sst and excise tax exemption ig you buy p1p2 and drive for business
Some harder working folks than i, will have a great deal. My end of the market will just celebrate the increased supply of old vehicles, driving prices down further. Unless gov starts forcing destruction of old vehicles.
2052 : Still down 5% from end-JAN, down 21% from last DEC
2105 : Time to update accounting spreadsheets. New stuff isn't reporting properly
2230 : I just bought India ETF units. One of my funds spat out $40, and I didn't want to buy CN or JP equities since they seemed to be at ATH, so I went with the brown stuff which has done -6% YTD.
Feel free to disappoint me :P
2242 : Net worth up 14% in four months. Low base problem
2310 : Time to darn socks.
2315 : First dose of HydroxyMethylButyrate is quite cheerful, as it is working as preferred.
2322 : HydroxyMethylButyrate seems to help both muscles and nerves, on somewhat different pathways than creatine. I guess HMB will be bigger or as big a fad as creatine someday. How do I trade this?
Sat 11Oct2025, Sabbatical2 @2.542years ( year3; month31; week133; day928 )
0107 : HMB & nerves : HMB -> [ PI3K/Akt pathway + MAP/ERK pathway ]
0153 : Copper looks ready to spike, based on SILVER/COPPER cyclicity.
0330 : Up hour 13. Neural tone exceptionally good, given the constrained nutritonal input. Need to observe the HMB variable for a few weeks to see how it fares.
0359 : Fucking complicated time portfolio
0438 : Looks like offspringinc.com's cellulose, non-plastic, wet wipes ... are the only easily available option in Malaysia ... I actually want these for swiffer mops, but even then, perhaps stiff paper napkins will do.
15.5 sen each on shopee
0715 : Sooo much homework to do after the technical ""dance pattern"" resets. I guess it will be fun in the future to write code that automates this.
0748 : fairly interesting day. up hour 17, bed time
1515 : about 8 hours down
1602 : -69% to
-21% to
-38% today 💀
1605 : Time to feed
1632 : People should be as proud of their divorces as they are of their marriages. Operations progress a step at a time, and you act based on situational awareness. Overpromising and overhoping are bad, but failure to log and address emergent problems is worse. The notion of lock-ins without choice is a game for primitive societies. Do not.
1721 : 4 eggs, microwaved
4 slices bread, toasted
Glomp of kimchi, homemade
Coffee
Breakfast today, now off to desk and darning work
1740 : Call me naive. I haven't bought or sold a single thing throughout the entire crypto wipe-out drama lol
1855 : Just noticed that my EPA+DHA daily dose is a bit on the low end at 0.6g. Gonna knock it up to 0.9g, which is under half of the concerning 2g dose, though folks do go higher.
Hope the blood thinning effect isn't problematic.
Sun 12Oct2025, Sabbatical2 @2.545years ( year3; month31; week133; day929 )
0325 : Not a super productive day. But fairly chill. Rotated portfolio a bit, post crash. Updated accounts. Added elastics to a pair of socks. Kept pace with an old friend. Back at a desk for a bit. Need to figure out what to eat later - haven't done that very well today.
1544 : The majority of my social life consists of interactions with people I meet for the first time, and may never meet again. I think introverts would find this difficult to appreciate.
2235 : My heart is heavy with all the little things to do, and all the distractions from irrelevant people who are incoveniently trying to help. Lol
2257 : Day 929. Unproductive weeks, but it's looking like an incredibly productive year.
2310 : someone is punching ETH
2311 : The world is about to enter a period of austerity ... due to little more than brinkmanship of the wealthy. The nature of such cycles is that plebs will react to achieve a new balance over time. How many years will it take, this time?
Mon 13Oct2025, Sabbatical2 @2.548years ( year3; month31; week133; day930 )
0103 : I feel like an idiot every time I go in and do a half dozen trades totaling 0.6% of my portfolio ... which by the way, is only a five-figure portfolio.
But i wanted to learn what it feels like to be poor, so here I am, doing all the things ... in my Nth year lol
0120 : If we're lucky, by Tuesday it'll be as if nothing ever happened. If we're not ...
0407 : Well that was a helluva pump. Perhaps time for the last meal of the day.
0453 : Portfolio up 25% in a day. Largest holding up 80%, so got skittish and knocked it down towards par with regards to ATH fraction, and market cap. Put in more orders in an effort to stay invested, but have not yet assigned 8%, so that's going to stay in state fiat for now.
I hate managing money, it's such a plebian task but hey, one has to at least try, to eat.
0542 : Deciding to study the poor has been pivotal in many of my career decisions :
1849 : Fucking markets. I have so much accounting to do today ...
2005 : exit US, enter MY
2007 : exit IB, enter companies from scratch
2011 : exit software, enter studies
2013 : exit trading options, enter F&B
2015 : exit project management, enter entrepreneurship
2023 : exit employment, enter studies
Starting out adulthood with immense privilege, I have always sought to distribute my risks in such contrarian fashion.
2239 : Finally updated my asset allocation dashboards .... arghhh ... what a mess ... need to fix
2324 : Saya doakan Malaysia menjadi masyarakat yang tidak tak terkawal perasaannya. Doa bagi seorang yang tak mementingkan sebarang tuhan, sama je dengan harapan dan kerja hidup seharian.
2331 : It remains a meditative time, as one waits for other people to pass.
2335 : Day 931. Financially, very little has been accomplished over the past year. Cash is still burning.
Tue 14Oct2025, Sabbatical2 @2.551years ( year3; month31; week133; day931 )
0050 : XBTXAU.
That's is all.
Make, or break.
0155 : I struggle to find polite things to say about people who have corporate role models lol. So i generally try to hush myself.
1117 : Why are type Cs offended at being called type C ? c la c ...
1428 : SNXUSD doubletopped slightly short of long term resistence. I am out.
1429 : This week, everyone in Malaysia will become a child development specialist with a minor in civics.
If we must hope for change in the MOE, I want women to learn lethal or maiming self-defense. Sometimes genteelness isn't a beneficial good. No one is afraid of discipline teachers who often bully students. If you are to attack someone, it is best you know, the target immediately endangers you."
"Wed 15Oct2025, Sabbatical2 @2.553years ( year3; month31; week133; day932 )
0147 : Day 932. Social work continues. Research into housekeeping made a little progress with cellulose swiffer pads, but more work needs to be done on useful solvents. Portfolio is down 5% from recent highs. Friends exist in my sphere, but no particularly compatible individuals, as has usually been the case for decades. A bit of publication was done in Malay today. I should exercise more.
0200 : Type m : what is that?
Mother's milk
Mei mei's muff
Masochistic masculinity
Morbid manhood
0222 : down
1354 : up. 12 ish down
1405 : 12 hours down. Time to apply any neuronsl development that might have gone down
1810 : Life is such a pain, when surrounded by fragile people. All they do is get hurt, and complain about it.
See, it is irritating, is it not?
2336 : Took my skateboard for a test ride to the bank. Speedup over walking maybe 20%, even with incomplete sidewalks.
Thu 16Oct2025, Sabbatical2 @2.556years ( year3; month31; week133; day933 )
0311 : I was discussing emotion and motivation with a friend. Topics in psychology. I made reference to Malaysian culture. They said, Malaysians are very tolerant because they are ashamed of being negative in public. Of course, we all know that public negativity is both a core of political identity, and the national boogeyman.
I had earlier referred to how I spent part of my college years studying how to operate in solitary confinement, though I haven't had to utilise that training much, for the most part, so far. Malaysian politeness is generally irritating to me, and part of my orientation is to treat shameful people as if they exist to be made fun of. Hence I have always needed to be prepared for the risks of such an orientation.
0434 : Social work was tiring today. Buy orders been firing all night. Just like the idiots in my inboxes all day. Piu piu piu ...
1425 : About 8 hours down, but not quite as many asleep. A few hours spent just hydrating and enforcing downtime.
Time to get up for the day. Enforced feeding. Cook rice.
1536 : PENDIDIKAN KARAKTER.
Literally ""ajar apa2 pun, jangan ajar civik dan perundangan, takut anak2 kita jadi pandai membina negara""
1639 : Isopropanol mopping failed : probably due to contamination
1642 : Second monthly liquidation of cash equivalent assets for for opex
2034 : Off to the grocer before it closes
Am i covered in lead from solder? Is it disproportionately in my SPI? I guess we are not finding out soon
2201 : It is a sad day. Not because people die - they die everyday. But because the living are too foolish to stop caring about things.
Fri 17Oct2025, Sabbatical2 @2.559years ( year3; month31; week134; day934 )
0228 : Argh. Time to buy a bench vise.
Don't want to afford a dremmel tho
0544 : 2-3 hour workout sharpening drill bits by hand, with a file. Pretty much learnt how to carve out the entire thread, incrementally. So tiring! Wondering about toxicity of steel++ dust.
0720 : Productive day. Still crowded by fools. But well executed for the most part . To bed, hopefully never to wake. But that is improbable
1616 : Up hour 2. BTCUSD has lost SMA support at 200D, and is approaching the 350D ( 50W ) support
0.5 FibRetrace is conveniently at 100k
1834 : Urgh. People citing neurological bases for things, who don't have any applicable knowledge of nerves or science.
1836 : Daily complexity is fairly high. Main hindrance to progress is snowflakes in the vicinity. High priority to reduce this somehow, without throttling social life to zero.
1939 : I think the snowflake problem definitely spans approximately months 13 to 31. It's been a while. Good thing other things got cleaned up gradually, meanwhile.
1940 : My father worked as a teacher for most of his professional career. Last I checked, he still practices on an informal basis. People used to ask, if I was going to teach people too ... well, there is always a need.
In fact, if you want to teach people, you don't need to work as a teacher. Just wander around the earth or the Internet, and you will find a multitude of fools with obvious deficiencies.
Whether anyone wants to be taught, is besides the point. You end up teaching even if you do not want to.

Sat 18Oct2025, Sabbatical2 @2.562years ( year3; month31; week134; day935 )
0024 : I suppose the trick to sustainability in social work is to avoid brats, and to focus on value multipliers.
0033 : Balancing financial and social risk, one should be careful not to depend on one to buffer the other.
0143 : I suppose, if I had known that VCs would spend so much money and natural resources on poor AI architecture, I would have focused on delivering that and only that after college. Oh well. I guess now I'll just have to wait it out. What a waste of public goods.
0208 : Perhaps the point is to schedule dopamine therapy. No, that's not quite good enough. It has to equivalate a full bodied sprint.
0308 : Need to set protocol to drop body temperature before cerebral sprints.
Also need to set protocol to do full body sprints, a certain amount, daily.
0353 : After 3.3 years, might finally install blackout curtains at the living room. So complicated
0426 : Budget allocation should accommodate cooling costs for cognitive recovery.
0443 : Time to feed. I guess home architecture has entered a new phase with the blackouts planned
0445 : Weekend markets are going to be nuts following Friday's option expiry.
0508 : I think it's reasonably easy to find a partner that can be supported the way they want. Conversational, physiological, and financial companionship requirements are typically fairly straightforward. But finding someone that supports you instead, is relatively harder if you are already structurally privileged. Such is the way of things.
1436 : Caught up on sleep again. Just barely but, I suppose it is an anchor.

I was discussing strategy with a friend. They suggested reverse psychology, and i said I had no room to add complexity via irony.
Needy partners can be fun. But the ones who actually get into moods they can't adjust themselves are the issue at hand i think. Some people consider it ""normal human needs"", i consider it pathological lol. Different cultures i suppose. Need to assess candidates on a case by case basis

0454 : Most of today was spent on logistics, rearranging, cleaning. A little bit was spent on home improvement. I met a new friend from the luxury sector, coincidentally working for an acquaintance. It's great knowing that people found their little space in the world.
Blackout curtains are up, but only partially. Tests at sunrise. Need to focus more on muscle development.

1459 : Response to common requests on dating apps :
""Want serious relationship"" - discuss, how do you define it?
""Want loyalty"" - discuss, how do you define it?
""Want a best friend, who understands me, to do life with"" - you're aiming too low, you should have several
""Want unconditional love, a ride-or-die"" - that is a terrible business proposition, and an absolutely incorrigible risk model; I thought about this for a bit, and realised that Christians seem to have merged the Greek notion of civil rights, with the Semitic deity drama, to produce a hybrid drama
""Want to eat, sleep, and travel"" - sure, me too, but I'm not five, and you're not paying for me
""Let's make money together"" - this is not bad, but we may have different life priorities, so we need to grab coffee and do an audit

1927 : Oleh sebab cultural sensitivity, when my friend said she'd pay for me to get a haircut, I offered to do it if she stopped wearing a hijab.
Well, fair is fair, unfortunately this is asymmetrically illegal
2134 : There are lots of problems in the world, murder, rape, boring men, etc.
Women can't control men directly. Women can control how women use apps.
So while i empathise with the problems brought about the world by men in general, those complaints don't actually tell women what to do on apps. My angle of advice tends to focus on practical actions hehe. ( People have been annoyed at this angle of my advice for decades. I understand. )
2156 : My general communication problem with some friends, on discussions about X, is they don't just go ""i have nothing useful to say about X"", but they will start going on about A, B, and C which may or may not have relevance to X. So it takes a while for me to figure out their true intent, and then it's easy for me to cut out the non-X stuff and move on. Lol

0355 : Meta link sharing seems to be all fucked up again. Gotta double check crossposts
0541 : Still not sure how much imaginary stuff to entertain, in order to demonstrate empathy.
I don't buy the notion that you should believe in other people's mistakes. At most, you can hold their hand while they keep making mistakes, and either say nothing or remind them that you think they are making a mistake. But telling them they are doing the right thing is just harmful.
0559 : Technical study. I think, as long as I'm not calling out individuals by name for their flaws ( in my perception ) ... then it's safe to let them call me out by name for my flaws ( in their perception ), because this sums up to a unilateral public criticism, which is basically not responded to by myself.
OK, I think that helps me clarify my protocol about how to deal with these. What a chore. I'm sad because folks I've spent a lot of time helping, are adding to my workload without helping me.
0610 : I've managed to actively deprioritise unnecessary social interactions offline, and to manage my low priority social interactions online, since about 2003.
I don't understand why anyone would want to run a few high-cost relationships, and return low-positive or negative value ... when you can run a bouquet of low-cost relationships, which all return low-positive value.
Do the fucking math lol ... avoid obvious problems.

Now I have to explain to people that my views are based on the perception that my culture is superior, and it is bothersome as it makes them irritable. This is why I did not bother to socialise much from the ages of 18 to 39. Being on a sabbatical of decade scale is a truly novel experience.
0620 : People are setting off fireworks at 0620 in Sentul
0621 : What it's like inside the mind of a poiymath :
- I don't actually think about all the things I know, all the time
- rather, I have to open and close programs much like your usage of apps in personal computing; memory hierarchy is the unifying concept here
- this means that I can flip through socmed, and read things I've written over say, the past week or month, and have no recollection of having written most of them until I start reading
- this is just how I have cultured / trained myself

0253 : I make all sorts of mistakes, in every form of intelligence, as everyone else does. Yet I find the most costly are errors of capital misallocation to other people. So after all, most of my best relationships with people involved a minimal allocation of capital, and a decent return on my risk.
0302 : This market is going to disappoint a lot of people.

It is wishful thinking, and children should be educated to avoid such behaviour.
A better world awaits us.

0013 : Used the wrong pump on the IPA layer and contaminated it with the brine. Moved some of the mixture to a bottle with different geometry. Dug a different pump out of storage. We wait till it settles again, tomorrow.
0034 : Sometimes I wonder where I would be now, if I hadn't decided to retire before I graduated from college in 2005. These days where work is especially difficult, I remind myself that I am just here to pass the time. This helps me focus on weeding out more troublesome activities, and reducing their priority further.
0128 : kimchi material cost, research landed at 6 RM/kg
0204 : pemmican is great stuff. but its inputs are expensive. taking out the meat and lard just makes it less nutrient dense. will spend a short while considering this
0328 : An old friend has taken upon themselves a great responsibility. But whether they are aware or not, that such things are thrust upon scapegoats, I cannot say. I merely ""pray"" for their self-confidence and good mental health. Not all of us were privileged to be resilient from young. For some, it has to be wrought out of fear and trembling over decades.
While I am familiar with the mechanics of prayer in spiritual traditions, I view it through a lens of mere systems and data. I hope we are all well, in these times.
0408 : Kimchi kaizen hypotheses :
1. avoid rinsing after brining. So maybe use only 30-50% of original salt quantity. Reduces waste, increases time and skill input
2. substitute fish sauce with meats, maybe dried. Increases protein, and risk of toxicity
3. reduce water addition. Reuse exuded brine for rinsing blender. Reduce water in flour mix ... also proportionately reduce heating. Reduces waste and concentrates bulk
4. Switching up vegetable and spices is a no-brainer. Added for completeness
0408 : Late. Awake. Let us eat, again

0110 : Troubleshooting poor reviews of very expensive restaurants :
On the hospitality end, generally you will find the summary pain point is that the customer didn't feel sufficiently doted on.
Literally, ""the staff did not love me the way i wanted to be loved"".
So, a lot of staff are literally not trained for this hahaha
This aspect of branding has nothing to do with food, and everything to do with alignment to/from the Danny Meyer approach.
A brand manager can of course, tell staff ""we don't do emotional labour"", which was on-brand for the brutalist 24-7 cafe coworking space I used to run.
0116 : say a hail mary for markets on 5Nov, folks
0440 : Three years of low confidence, from [ poor dopamine, serotonin, oxytocin ] as a result of emotionally supporting [ whingey, ungrateful, belligerent, snowflakes ]. Work is difficult, but manageable. So, the question is always a matter of moderation. Life is a good study of stupid things and people. As a present to myself, a reminder to encapsulate toxic behaviour before it overwhelms my immune system. Haha, preferably on a minute to minute basis. Otherwise the hours are difficult, and then the weeks and years are a complete waste of time.
0605 : Cohn's rules.
1. attack consistently
2. defend consistently
3. express optimism
This is simple realpolitik. I don't understand when genteel prople are shocked that wars are fought this way, and then get annoyed that they had unprepared defences.
1000 : I think I shall begin advising people that they are sick, as soon as they express anxiety, fear, or anger, about other people. Those physiological reactions cannot be resolved by oneself when they are predicated upon other people. They can only be resolved by oneself, if the physiological reaction is predicated upon oneself, which one can control.

0526 : My quality of life deteriorates whenever I inattentively eat and bite my lip by mistake, as it tends to ulcerate over a week. Let this be a common reminder that I make far larger mistakes with much longer periods of consequence which I am not aware of. Though in my view, this is usually about investing in other people.
0529 : Macro asset allocation needs to move to 50% sovereign cash. But when?
Yeah, state cash is a necessary qualifier these days.
1530 : Enforced eating, shortly. Time to jam hormones, via some sort of work. I don't know what sort, yet.
1538 : Generally it is hard, to find smart people, in the world. I don't try much, I just do a bit of work on this from time to time. Dating apps and socmed provide a bit of a funnel. otherwise it has seemed over 25 years, that internal work is more efficacious than seeking collaborators
1740 : I look like an accidental shinobi today. Black ankle socks are my home uniform. Went out with black flipflops and was too lazy to desock. Trackpants of the elastic ankled variety. White worn t shirt
1800 : OK - finally with the pigmenting, I can see that last tub of IPA better - the [ interface ] was unfortunately close to a line on the container, so I might have missed it before.
Currently I have learnt that the IPA floats on brine, but any sludge in the IPA may collect in between, if the sludge is lighter than the brine.

0243 : Day 951. Ruminating on social commitments. A few, this week.
0254 : Interesting pivot from dopamine to serotonin. Nevertheless, without bloodwork, so much modelling is hypothetical
0324 : After all, what is limited is the rate of thought and learning.
0326 : War causes inflation. The destruction of goods without a corresponding destruction of money has defined consequences. But wait, have you seen any cases where money was destroyed?
0410 : Sad. But there is really no helping uncommuncative people, unless you want more liabilities.
0617 : Is having a boyfriend embarassing now?
Is having a wife embarassing now?
Do you like this game? 🤭
0621 : Analysis of state. On B12 today, serotonin levels appear to be higher. Hunger presents not as a drop in dopamine, but as an abdominal soreness accompanying undisturbed cognitive work. Interesting.
0849 : Enjoying the serotonin glow from B12. Monitoring sense data rate and dopaminergic systems keenly

0055 : alpha this, beta that : astrology for letterheads
1331 : It is probably time for me to start branding myself as an ops person.
I branded myself as a tech person in order to get tech jobs which were quite educational. This was sporadic from 2011 to 2021. Now in my sabbatical, I have extended my study of tech to memory layouts in chips, so I am happy with my progress in this vertical, and have no immediate need for tech jobs.
Broadly I have been positioned as a generalist, since around 2008, after my initial tour of professional services as a novice. I determined during those early years that the only interesting jobs are on boards, but I would need more ops experience in order to qualify to work on boards.
Corporate life remains an ongoing study.

Literally started drinking before breakfast, sat in on a bunch of middlemen trying to find a middle, watched a car go up in flames from across a padi field, continued ranting on socmed as a form of activism against movements I oppose, and am still up at 3am structuring my thoughts, after also having dropped off fruit at a sedentary relative's home.

2200 : the global population is vast. a few people will be surrounded by mostly smarter people. a few by mostly dumber people. generally it is difficult to know which bucket you are in. the simple strategy is to weigh all available information carefully, and to be aware of people who appear to ACTUALLY BELIEVE THEMSELVES TO BE very smart. they cause the most problems.

I go to sever the heart of the world.
But first I need a carwash before I return this borrowed asset.
1214 : Crying. Infants cry as a matter of instinct, and adults respond as a matter of instinct. But these behaviours often carry into culture.
For some adults, crying is a legitimate method of calling for help, and responding to crying is expected. For others this is only relevant to children.
Generally society maintains this instinct of emerrgency call and response. What is debated is whether the calls are about more-:or less-valued things, and whether the response is appropriate in proportion.

0448 : On sabbatical at 42, I'm in the phase of studying disciplines such as weekly meal prep, darning socks until they disintegrate, and tracking exercise on a spreadsheet. All of which I had the privilege to postpone, earlier in life. I am pleased with what life has sent my way, and I wish all people had the same level of contentment, beginning in their youth. I retired before graduation. Now I have spent endless days understanding the conventions of other people.

0456 : The last 14-18 months : cortisol, way more than convenient, has slowed down work. Fear, dread, and general caution. The present focus on physiology is a good time to figure out how to resolve this in a more permanent fashion

Perhaps a cortisol-serotonin balance issue.
Definitely due to financial risk over the past 1-2 years.
Resuming considerations.

1430 : I am thinking of a long walk for a few hours. If you are reading somewhere and want to coffee for a few minutes let me know and I will stop by at the right time.
2321 : Main benefit of going for a walk : eye exercise, since variable distance scanning doesn't happen as much indoors.

0407 : Let's go shopping.
0637 : Rotary tool ordered. Toys remain in cart. Rain coat also. Glued a wallet. Took down a manhole cover for leak inspection - maybe only the cardboard is bad. Wiped off an old label from a bottle. Decanted some liquid which i should have pumped - reset to try again. Why is my life so complicated?
1418 : Good walk yesterday. Following some socials, I need to check with the bank that mortgage is in order. Time to feed.
1802 : One interesting observation of sustained low-impact exercise ( e.g. six hours of walking ), is that the generated signalling molecules start systematically affecting tissue development in unrelated muscle groups, such as the arms, if they have residual stimulus markers from recent exercise. largely hypothetical
2131 : $7 spent on entertainment today. Quite unnecessary. But affordable for the time being.
2236 : plummer x the sound of music : Good culture is whatever makes the market happy. Even if you think it is shit. That is why, it is important to shovel shit for a living. It sets aside personal opinion and focuses on business.
Tue 18Nov2025, Sabbatical2 @2.647years ( year3; month32; week138; day966 )
0103 : Before I studied commerce, if you'd asked me if I could make 10 million dollars, I wouldn't have known. So at that point in life, it was easier to just bet on being happy without worrying about some arbitrarily large uncertain investment.
After I studying commerce for 20+ years, I'm quite sure I could make 10 million inflation adjusted dollars, if I wanted to. But reflecting on the level of happiness I get just by not doing anything more than just working in minimum wage roles, I generally just park in the passive happiness situation.
It always takes some sort of external incentive to do more than bare minimum in life. I do not take pride in dissatisfaction with the present. When I am dissatisfied, I think of it as boredom, and efforts to avoid boredom are then termed as amusements.
0230 : My entire response to the recent fashion policing issue can be summed up as : Dear God, who is called by many names, by many peoples, I pray that Malaysians will encourage each other to wear fewer clothes in public. Amen.
0242 : Sebenarnya, kalau nak kata ada orang sakit hati sebab orang lain tak tutup aurat, saya nak kata juga, saya rasa sakit hati bila adanya halangan terhadap terbitan orang yang sendiri memilih untuk taktutup aurat.
Bukan tersangat susah la, saya, tapi kalau orang nak mempertikaikan isu hati, I pun nak main la. Kan? Mari kita bersuara, serakyat pelbagai suara.
0443 : Real estate being in a slump, reduces the liquidity that lenders push into the system via financed transactions.
Jobs being in a slump, reduces the velocity of money that's already sloshing around in public.
AI stocks are stuck in a momentum supercycle, until they're not. Everyone can see how this would end under conservative assumptions.
Defensive equities are rather oversold, and waiting for a pullback in animal spirits, before momentum shifts into a broad growth phase of the business cycle.
At the same time, gold, silver, and bitcoin are mincing about as ""safe"" havens.
War in Europe is driving sentiment.
Both sides of the Atlantic carry, are pressing towards highly anticipated printing operations.
Yields all over the world are expected to drop on the short-end of the curve, with significant support at the long-end.
Corporate debt faces choppy waters.
Oil and industrials are stuck, for now.
Overinvestment in infrastructure, water, energy, data-centres, etc. may provide narrative fuel for growth, but only after prices collapse.
The big fat trigger, is once again, likely to be a paradigm shift about the algorithmic complexity of intelligence.
If it turns out that future costs become anticipated to be much lower than they are anticipated to be now, we shall see a reckoning.
Heavy sigh. Not my area of expertise, or primary concern, but a student has to keep an eye on finances also.

Amin
1210 : Between chip memory layouts, POSIX shell language, Linux module hierarchy, raising inflammation from workouts, revisiting natural language grammars, and STUDYING MALAY ... the last one has been the hardest subject this year, merely because it contains a huge body of discourse with such primitive polemics.
One of the more interesting devices here, is to phrase visioning statements as prayers, when discussing issues with people who have a habit of praying. This is especially true for people like me who don't practice a personal relationship of the conversational kind with the universe, because our lifestyles are so different from the other sort of folk.
1335 : Still catching up on sleep, apparently.

1653 : On to library research for hard tack.
1744 : Maybe I should start with the spreadsheet for daily macros, and then build a brownie recipe from that.
2044 : Napped. Enforced feeding next. Then back to the food spreadsheet
2129 : Too many social distractions. Hm. Wonder how long it will take to flush memory. Given that the last exchange lasted a week, maybe another week. That's not efficient at all. But at this point in life I can afford the inefficiency, just to observe how it progresses. I wonder about whether there are other reasons I should not.
2222 : Japan must cut rates. Oh to be a currency trader in this era.
JP's 2024's monetary policy was met by the US's 2025 trade policy. In order to normalise carry, both sides will ease off by mid-2026.
My god, I don't know what I'm talking about ... but it's fun to pretend that I should at least give it a go.
2345 : Time for more stress shopping
Thu 20Nov2025, Sabbatical2 @2.652years ( year3; month32; week138; day968 )
0155 : I was telling a close friend, I need to structurally spend less time with people whose definition of friendship is to help each other when there is trouble. I need to spend more time shopping for friends whose definition of friendship is mutual enjoyment on an ad hoc basis.
Divesting from the most burdensome components of a portfolio is key to optimising capital. Always it becomes a gamble.
My structural deficiency is, that I need to derisk more from people who have a tendency to fall over and benefit from being picked up.
I actually don't know where to shop for generally independent and nonchalant people to add to my social circle. Haha. But this is not a new development. It's just that at this point in life I have more free time to fart around with shopping.
0205 : Can we stop wasting time and just send XBTUSD to 86k already. At the rate we're going, the sell-offs are so gentle it's going to take an even larger dump to get any significant volume out of play 😂😂😂
0225 : As literally the entire world braces for NVDA's earnings call, and the subsequent sentimental uncertainty, I have locked in some certainly by increasing CAPEX :
- rubic cubes

1156 : Now waiting for XBT to dip into a right shoulder in an IHNS motif, or go to 86k.

Pick up car
Do all the things

2035 : Accounts updated. Number of numbskulls talked to today : at least one, possibly three. Time for a break.
2156 : 80% of city within 10 min walk of pick-up point bus/train is actually pretty horrible. It needs to be 10 min to pick up time by bus/train, then it makes sense.
2203 : Hah. Like that lah. People are starting to blame injury and death on the emergency services technology transition.

Protein + carbs = poor absorption
Protein + fats = maybe better
Right, that frames near future research a bit
1716 : Checking out stuff in Ipoh, feels like there are as many shit cafes here as there are in KL lol.
Probably the same in many towns, I usually just don't notice

No, I don't really care about your feelings ( usually ). There are enough animals on this planet, and we shouldn't be encouraging people to regress into humanistic sentimentality ...

My current target for fully spread toe width is 10.5cm but I shall have to keep calibrating.
1303 : End of life management, for humans, is complicated. Many have made plans over decades, based on faulty expectations. I am just back from a four-day trip, in support of such matters - an unpaid distraction from my work.
I am simply reminded to keep some focus on my study of physiology for the time being.
1352 : Time to clean the house.
1528 : Katak tertempurung ingat katak itu sesuatu yang berkepentingan. Bila jumpa katak lain, ingat hoi, kita seberkepentingan! Katak taktertempurung ingat ... katak ada merata2, makhluk2 merata2 ada kepentingan. Kepentingan katak tiadapun lain daripada kepentingan makhluk lain
1747 : It is a beautiful day, my favourite weather. Yesterday, everyone was rained out. Albeit, today's passage was slightly unpleasant, being mostly about catch-up work after some few days of distractions. I must remain focused on the study of physiology. I have been telling my friends that I hope to expand my social circle so that it becomes less saturated with people who depend on me for comfort. That is however, difficult, as the world is full of babes. I shall persevere, for now.
1808 : Auto mechanic passed away. New management sent a recent bill with 100% - 400% markup on parts vs public data. I paid the bill, first, then asked if I could source for my own parts in the future, while sending the workmanship to them. New manager said, OK. We shall see
1816 : XBTUSD on track to 74k by 8DEC ... hehe
1952 : So on my last roadtrip to Ipoh, I found that a 2-storey shoplot with mid-century modern elements, 999 year lease, 15 minutes drive from the city centre can be had for 350k MYR before haggling.
And a 2-storey link house adjacent to commercial areas can be had for 390k MYR before haggling.
I'm wondering how far out I have to go to find something at half the rate.

1527 : Ipoh. Hey everyone, looks like I'll be back in that are for much of the week, killing time waiting for associates to do their thing. If there are any social or business interests, hit me up, I'll drive within an hour of there, to meetup. I've been surveying old shophouses and newer houses with potential to license the front as a retail space. Still haven't figured out what to do long-term in Malaysia, 20 years post-college.
1535 : 49g protein to start the day.
150g rice 7%
2 x 71g eggs 12%
24g SPI 90%
This exceeds 0.8g / kg maintenace requirements, so the rest of the day's protein will be for hypertrophy, somewhat.
1606 : Iran is talking about outgrowing Tehran as the capital city. It's also really near Israel, unfortunately. Perhaps they should consider moving the capital to Bandar Abbas for strategic reasons.

0701 : Whomever came up with the notion that ""emotional intelligence"" and ""empathising with emotional wrecks"" are the same thing, ought to be shot.
It is precisely a matter of categorising emotional fragility : as a disability, to be reduced, and not as some bauble of civilisation, to be preserved.
The notion that virtue signalling about justice, empathy, and care, are jointly sufficient virtues, even without economically functional implementations of policy, is no good. It is quite nice to be nice, but this doesn't solve problems for anyone, except those who are offended, by the appearance of trash without regard for the final destination of trash.

1533 : BTC etc.
It's literally a collusion between various private entities to manage transactions without state oversight.
This includes the collusion of some states which use it as a way to undermine other states' interest and infrastructure.
Finally, it removes value from retail, and consolidates it among technocrats.
Gun, germs, and steel. Nothing new

1501 : This year I consolidated my urban base for design work, in KL.
I am now considering the purchase of a shophouse or land, 0.1-0.5 acre / 4k-20k sf somewhere cheap, on the peninsula, to live in and setup a heavier workshop.
I am not well capitalised, so this is only a fanciful direction for the time being. If you are into similar interests like homesteading, fabrication, retail, tourism, market development, and real estate development, then please get in touch with me.

0019 : Home again. Keeping and resting. A strange fortnight. Some speeding tickets. Various bits of commercial research. But I have no reason to pull triggers on moving out of the city just yet. It would be good to consolidate old folks strewn all about the country together for logistical optimisation. We should just set up entire neighbourhoods at once, for poorer, older people. Meanwhile, I need to delete unnecessary memories of festivities and to resume studying various manipulations of my body. Perhaps protein and acidity were too high today. I have a lot to work on.
0107 : Broadly, I like what Zus did in Malaysia because I thought it was doable in 2015. That was when I raised a bit of capital, to set up my first business. But Zus folks had a lot more capital and governance control, both of which I lacked as a minority founder who had put together 19 partners from a tiny network on social media. All in, a happy experience ... weak organisations and individuals are tautologically destined for extinction. It remains a good reflection. In my little experience, I still find it rare to encounter business people who are concerned primarily with ESG : for most, it seems to be merely a sidequest for financing qualifications.
1116 : Verbal study needs to linger around interest rate economics for a bit.
1128 : Out of food after two weeks on the road. Gotta make food.
1242 : Some countries ban children from social media.
Banning social media until 16 is ok, if they also introduce media studies from age 8 onwards.
But without media studies ( i.e. risk management training/ epistemology) bans are pretty useless.
1343 : Back at a desk after a coupla weeks.

Well, I said, you'd probably consider only, say 25,000 from the available supply of say, 5 million eligible Malaysian men. That's 0.5%.
And that's just your pass-1 filter : you need to actively delete 99.5% of the candidates ... and then you'd still have 25,000 people to vet.
I think most people don't realise what the market is like. Do the fucking work.
1725 : Advanced the superficial realestate research. Decanted a bit more IPA sludge, but not yet done. Perhaps, time to hit the grocer for kim chi ingredients
1830 : PEOPLE ARE NOT SUPPOSED TO TRAVEL FAR FOR WORK.
It just reduces GDP by like 20% simply due to wasted manhours and slow processes, environmental damage resulting in heakthcare costs, and low qualities of service per Ringgit in all sectors.
This is a fundamental economic planning failure at the Federal level across related ministries, over 5 decades.

1252 : Calves still hurt. More repairs needed. Cleared daily swipe quota for some dating app. Minimised an unnecessary elaboration on the redundancy of electric double boilers ( ok, the reason they exist is cost is higher for precision thermostats ). 1819 : Malaysian discourse has not changed much in 30 years. I find it both funny and stupid. The same topics are hot : race, religion, bribery, weak law enforcement, garnished by new issues such as poor public healthcare, and social security. We are still a juvenile nation. I will not live to see it ""develop"".
1854 : Ok, the current batch of kimchi is HOT. Not sure which of the following factors made a bigger difference :
- less water
- more salt
- different brand of chilli powder

Alright, pop-neurology isn't quite as bad as faux-neurology, but it comes pretty damn close
0436 : I'm waiting for DAP to be led by Malays. I don't see a quicker way to consolidate power away from ethnocrats. Ironic isn't it?
0540 : Anuar Ahmad has posted a widely circulated polemic about why UEC should not be accepted as sufficient admissions criteria for Malaysian public universities.
His position falls apart with the assertion of axiom 27, which is quite abstract, whereas a reification based on past discussions would probably render it false. ( UEC could be jointly sufficient with a pass in certain subjects like SPM BM. )

2106 : A challenging day / month / year. Too much data, and not enough people who are fun enough to discuss it with.
2119 : A rather scary period. Maybe I should start exiting fund-of-fund positions over the next six months, and move towards ETF-picking. Maybe IXIC will double-top and slide around NYD. Maybe US rate cuts will undermine US equities via DYX weakening, but how much of this is offset by stronger yields at the long-end of the curve, IDK. Maybe XAG and XBT all fall together.
This is all rather theoretical, and it's not as annoying as the distractions I entertain from the people around me, world, nation, family, and friends, whatnot.

2334 : Hm. This year, at 42, for the first time, I have a problem that could easily be solved with about $50,000, which I don't want to spend. Never encountered such a large problem before, so it's good to know that my appetite for problems has increased with age.

0046 : Realestate, is for the rich. I don't consider myself rich, so I have never made a point to study realestate in detail.
Around the age of 27, I made a token investment in realestate - a leasehold suburban flat, the cheapest I dared pay for. Around the age of 39, I made a second investment - a freehold urban apartment, mainly useful for entertaining guests. The shopping process for each of these involved a vast survey of the city's options for residential flats, and nearly nothing else.
Around the age of 42, I found myself looking to simplify logistics for the maintenance of old people in my family, so I began to survey all sorts of realestate, commercial and residential, land and buildings, throughout the peninsula of Malaysia. That was the last month, or so.
I figure, over the next 20 years, so roughly until I am 62 ( 2045 ), if I live that long, in Malaysia, and undistracted by greater responsibilities ... then I shall acquire more knowledge of realestate economics and property development. Also I should aim to save up enough to purchase a commercial-zoned property as an option to live in, for the longer term, while having the opportunity to hawk goods and services from time to time.
We shall see how that turns out. Either someone might have killed me, or revoked my citizenship, or jailed me, or ... gainfully employed me elsewhere.
0049 : Malaysia telahpun mengamalkan dasar tapisan media dan akedemik yg tertentu, sejak 1970-an. Ini bukan pemandangan peribadi saya, tapi fakta sejarah.

2118 : 2001-2005 was mostly spent on wetware.
2006-2025 was mostly spent on software.
I suppose the natural progression was simply to regress to the mundanity of hardware eventually. It is an unwanted, but unsurprising development.

I suppose, the main differentiator in my case is that I think a lot more of the population is stupid ... than the average person does.
-
Dad asked if I want more stability.
But dad, deciding that every day is a good day to die, has been a supremely stabilising way of life ...
0252 : Every night, as I go to bed, I think ... hm, perhaps soon I will die and no longer have to entertain irritating questions about why I seem happier than others. Then when I find that I have not yet expired, I default to being entertaining as a matter of passing time. As they say, what is the good life?
1359 : Caught up on sleep somewhat. B12, fish oil, and protein pre-sleep, a familiar protocol, aiding dreaming. Up a bit earlier than usual. Perhaps a good day for housekeeping. Unloading the realestate market study from the memory pipeline was a welcome development. Now it moves to lower latency, ruminations.
1445 : Time to feed, before it gets too late.
1535 : Switching data rumination from markets, to kinesthesia. Time to sweep the floor, and to consider thd placement of household items.
1724 : And now I have a social chore. Dinner
2216 : Oh, it's called a hemostat
2318 : Time to build delts. Might take a while

0025 : Weak. 8+kg dumbbells still rather challenging. But good to dig into details of specific muscles for targeted power development, after deprioritising it for a coupla decades.
1855 : What does one do in a world of slobs? Slobber along with them. Government, art, commerce, engineering ... on we go, on we go ...
Fri 26Dec2025, Sabbatical2 @2.751years ( year3; month34; week144; day1004 )
0013 : I used to hang out with some artsy folk, as a matter of keeping in touch with their end of society. After a few years, I had some indications that they might not be very smart. One of them expressed that it was weird, that someone else was doing physical exercise. On another occasion, they complained about syphilis as if we lived in a world without antibiotics. An anthropologist will always have new things to learn as long as people continue to change. Some people, however merely relive past societies. On other occasions I hung out with people from commerce, in tech, finance, talent management, advertising, and media industries. I wonder how much I gained from these studies in the third-world. Such is life.
0054 : Still struggling with resistance at 8kg/arm. So i tell myself to slow down and increase computation per unit of energy spent. More nerves, more muscles, etc.
Reviewed nutrition. Restarted HMB. Figured sunflower seeds are a good enough source of fat, so I need to stock up. Baking has failed to start, but must commence eventually.
0101 : This year, possibly last year too ... I spend most of my neural operations on things which are not kinesthetic. Perhaps I am just compensating for the years spent in horeca.
0120 : Trivia while lifting today : at 42 I'm older than
80% of the African population
67% of the global population
63% of the Malaysian population
61% of the China population
53% of the US population
via Google, roughly
1304 : I was thinking about modular furniture yesterday, and I still have not mastered weight bearing math, so today may be about species of wood and their uses.
1348 : Maybe realestate is the expensive hobby I develop, not because I super like money or art, but because I'm lazy and worked in the horeca trade, which benefits by extension to realestate.
1542 : Deceleration. Slow to smooth, smooth to fast.
1658 : Human neurobiology network models are today's fun topic. This stuff developed between 1999 and 2011, from the concept of a Default Mode Network, to a Triple Network Model by 2011. These basically describe the wetware architecture of human brains, and are useful in anthropomorphic software architecture (""AI"").
Neuroscience was an available major at my undergraduate college in 2001. But I didn't think the field was sophisticated enough to address fundamental phenomenology modelling, so I didn't focus on neuroscience.
It's a good time to see how the field has moved forward!
1815 : cassia fistula and jacarandia mimosifolia ( and Butea monosperma ) : Should be grown together. Why in the name of shitty Malaysian landscaping do we not have more of these in public spaces ...
1832 : TIL the indian almond ... is of the same genus as the DBKL tree ... they are all
_terminalia_ : wide canopies
... _catappa_ : massive, dark leaves
... _molinetii_ : tiny, dark leaves, spines
... _mantaly_ : tiny, variegated leaves, no spines
2026 : Maybe it's time to set up the Synesso.
2159 : Enforced DMN prioritisation, for a bit.
Sat 27Dec2025, Sabbatical2 @2.753years ( year3; month34; week144; day1005 )
0049 : CEN probably overstressed from social threats for much of 2024, and some of the surrounding months. DMN not dominant, and decision-making somewhat compromised. Finances severely impaired. Most of 2025 uneventful, but in a rut, meanwhile got various chores and studies done. Let's see where it goes from here ... extra effort needs to be made to dispose of various social liabilities, including charity projects.
0153 : Brief farmer's walk on the roof. Same pair of 10L jugs. More shoulder mass to play with, but, grips still building up lactic fast. I don't see much improvement since I did this stuff a year ago. Will keep working on things with an open mind.
0213 : Recently looked into pointe exercises, and they were incredibly helpful in providing a theoretical framework for foot kinesthetic calibration. Mainly I find toe isolation exercises and foot doming can fulfill some of the stimulation I previously got from walking and running, but without having to move out of one spot. I need to manage these exercises into my daily routine. It is late in life, and I intentionally deprioritised this unnecessarily for too long.
0323 : Technical post. Following some pointe exercises, I studied my posture, and found that my toe2 muscles are weak - I can't stand consistently on toes1&2, whereas these are the main points of contact for running footstrike. So I need to go fix that.
On the left, you see what I consider to be efficient distance running form, the posture inside the shoe. I used to do this more easily, years ago.
( all toe tips pressed together, firm against the ground)
On the right, I demonstrate what I consider to be a clumsy form, which I need to train myself out of. (toetips extended away from ground )
0350 : Egg+SPI protocol now at 4+48. Test test
1400 : Food at titiwangsa is absolutely trash. But the government is ultimately responsible for allowing culture to develop this way.
1. Nutrition is one problem. As OP stated.
2. Environmental impact of packaging is another.
3. Least important, but notable ... the arts/culinary situation ... Ayam gunting was served with bones, in a plastic bag. So the other day, I was walking around the park with my face in a plastic bag spitting out bones every 20 seconds
🤣🤣🤣
1730 : Today will begin, a study of wooden building construction, as a precursor to understanding concrete construction. Hit me up if these are technical subjects which you enjoy discussing. I have a lot to learn.
2135 : I just applied for an apprenticeship in a construction company. Like to learn how locals do buildings. I wonder if it will lead to anything.
Sun 28Dec2025, Sabbatical2 @2.756years ( year3; month34; week144; day1006 )
0116 : Post lunch parking CEN in favour of DMN, at least for a bit

1407 : Today : to study steel thicknesses and weightloads
2031 : Completely boring year. Mostly either chasing social work projects, and catching up on postponed studies from years ago. Investment positions hugely negative but within expectations (few would approve of my expectations). I hope next year is no worse than this one, it could be much worse.
2255 : I've generally been a lazy liver. I tend to say always, there's no use arguing with fools, so we'll just wait for them to die. But history reminds us that old fools breed young fools, and love their families dearly. So folly perpetuates. What shall motivate us to do anything about them? That is one of life's great questions.
I'm 42. The folks whose public policies I found foolish 28 years ago, are now over a hundred. When they die, I will say good riddance. And then I will expect other fools to take their place.
😂
2313 : Iterated plumbing maintenance. Time for a shower.
