So, largely in Helmi Effendy II 's network, there currently a strong objection to the label of "feudalism" to describe Malay attitudes of fealty to royalty.
Perhaps you can come up with some ideas, and get back to them with suggestions.
One particularly interesting suggestion from a chap was "berkerabat" as a better classifier. To which I suggested they launch a campaign to publish in as many political science and Asian studies journals as possible, about "kerabat" paradigms of monarchy, to split it off as clearly as possible from "feudalism". Of course the current academic use of the term feudalism begins with a study of European medieval society, Montesquieu, 1748.
( I know it's not really a writing subject, but since it is about word choice I figured this group was as close as it gets to a social club of political theorists in Malaysia. )
