determinism v. probabilism

Another thing just occurred to me : in future, I must remember that "deterministic" and "probabilistic" are not mutually exclusive adjectives per se. The specific mechanism of implementation has to be laid out to reify the meaning. Broadly, all things in life are probabilistic - and it is determinism which is a convenient fiction of language. I often say I am a fatalist, but that has more to do with acknowledgment that the factors governing momentary human progress from conception to death are beyond our control - it is not a statement about the fundamental laws of physics, I think.
